A belated Happy 104th Birthday to Luise Rainer!

She turned 104 on January 12. She won back-to-back Oscars for Best Actress in 1936 (for the Great Ziegfeld) and 1937 (The Good Earth).

^One of those is a replacement, if I recall correctly - she gave the original away!

104 is an incredible age for anybody. Here's to Luise!

Those Oscars are two different styles (and for consecutive wins in '36 and '37), so I'm not surprised. The one in the background is the "newer" design with the taller gold pedestal. The one in the foreground is the older 1930s Oscar with the black pedestal, so I would assume that's the original.
