I just came from a screening of " Capote" starring Philip Seymour Hoffman.
What a beautiful, fantastic, elegant performance. OSCAR GOLD. Huge ovation at the end of the screening at the Directors Guild. Last time I saw that was at "Million Dollar Baby" last year.

Posted: 9/10/05 at 8:36pmI know it is way too early.. but I just can't imagine anyone beating him this year. He is that good. And the screenplay by Dan Futterman is excellent.

Here is Dans pic. Wonderful actor and yes he wrote the screenplay. Probaly the reason he took two seasons of from a hit tv show.

I IMDBed him and it doesn't look like he's written anything else.
And you don't have to convince me of the genius that is PSH, I adore him! I can't wait to see his performance.

I adore Dan Futterman - especially in URBANIA (which is a must-see for those of you who find him appealing apart from his talent as an actor and writer).
So the films we know will open to rave reviews and with Oscar prospects include... Brokeback Mountain, Capote and Walk the Line...

Posted: 9/11/05 at 1:31pmDan Futterman.... was he on Will & Grace by any chance?
#22re: A early OSCAR prediction from DAME
Posted: 9/11/05 at 1:35pmThe film focuses on "In Cold Blood" but does a great job on illustrating his life. And yes; Dan Futterman was also on Wil and Grace.
