Not sure how you can get that "n*" begat "denigrate." Common sense would suggest the verb came first, or at least that they descended from the same root.
And common sense is available all over the world, incuding Texas, whether you're a native or a transplant.
language lessons/insults? next try "ad hominem". That's when someone's point in a debate is so weak, they have to resort to something else.
