A question for the gamers/Wii owners

Ok, so I'm debating on getting either the Wii or PS3. I'm really leaning towards the Wii, partially for price, and because I'm a Zelda fan.

My questions kinda boil to this:
1) My TV sits ontop of a wardrobe, it's the only place to keep it. From my bed, I'm still able to use remotes fairly successfully...will the Wii still be useable?
2) I have a lot of GameCube games, mainly Zelda, that I still enjoy. Will they work on the Wii the same way PS2 games used to work on the PS3?
3) All that said, is there a stronger argument for the PS3? I don't have an HDTV, and my parents have a Blu-Ray (and honestly, I don't tell much difference between Blu-Ray and Standard Def)

1. Yes, the Wii will still be usable. Just be sure to keep the motion sensor bar at a comfortable level and you will be fine.
2. Yes, GameCube games work in the same way P2 games work with PS2
3. No

Ok, I guess with that in mind, is there any place better to buy from? I probably won't buy a game immediately (since I have GameCube games). I have the options of Target, Wal-Mart, Best Buy and Fry's.
