Posted: 6/5/05 at 1:52amOkay, apparently my guess was a COMPLETELY and blatant lie...... I currently have 5237 posts. 5278 with this post. Damn.... I need a life.

CJR...
You've been here a full YEAR longer than I have, and I'm only about 500 posts behind you.
Don't worry.
You're not that bad off.

Posted: 6/5/05 at 2:25amI feel as if I have nothing! I have some work to do -- I must post more! I must hit 5,000 before September! (I'll give myself til November, just in case)

Posted: 6/5/05 at 2:53amWhere does one go to find out how many posts one has?

Molly...look under "your settings" or else, search on yourself on both the message board and the OT board, and then add them together.
I wonder if deleted messages stay added in the tally...
~ff~...most of your posts, as I recall, accumulated over a two month period...lol...followed by months of silence. It's nice to see you back, by the way.
#32re: A suggestion to Rob/Craig
Posted: 6/5/05 at 8:57amI always thought "Diva" would be appropriate after 10,000 posts.

Sadly, Flit, you're not far from wrong.
Although, I think it was closer to a 4 month period.
And I never fully disappeared...
I checked in now and then.
Flit, I hope that if I ever again become out of control that you will notify me and tell me to back off. :)

~FF~ you are a sweatheart, and I say that sincerely.
Still, I tried to counsel you last summer, but ya didn't listen, didja?
Will you listen to the grown-ups advice the next time you become obsessed with making a name for yourself?

José
Thanks for looking out for me.
Don't worry.
While I might never leave this board, I will never again try to take over.
I will listen to future advice.
And in a few short months I'm turning 21.
I hope that you will allow me to join the ranks of the "grown-ups" on the board.
I'm not the same little teenager that joined, I hope you realize.

Really?
You're that old?
lol
Well, we'll have to celebrate when that time arrives. Oh, and once you hit 21, and maturity, the ~~ have to go.

Actually, José, my first screenname on BWW was FloweryFriend, with no ~~.
But I screwed up the account by deleting my e-mail address, and then couldn't sign in.
So I switched to this one.
If Rob/Craig will allow me to drop the wings as a sign of maturity (or retroaction), then I will do so. :)

I remember the introduction of ~~, now that you mention it.
There was a desparation over the loss of identity, and the loss of all those PMs, too.
When you hit 21, you'll come up with a new name, but always add "formerly known as ~FF~" a la Prince.

a while ago i suggested that a good generic "next level" after "Legend" might be "Theatre Building Namesake" (as in Helen Hayes, Al Hirschfield, etcetera).
But i also agree the designations are essentially meaningless, as there is no distinction between a carefully thought out essay posting and a one-word reaction posting.
A nice compromise might be "proud BWW member since Month X, XX" to denote longevity. Some of us were charter members, of course. Not sure how the system might retroactively figure that out.

Posted: 6/5/05 at 12:59pmooops, double-post, which puts a chink in my legend status of course.

emcee - it's very easy to figure out how many posts someone has. just search their username on both boards.
i think i have about 3100. too lazy too look up my settings.
and i think different levels for 1000+ posts would be interesting...

Posted: 6/5/05 at 1:22pmAn easier way to see your number of posts, of course, is to look under "your settings"

Director 1000-2000
Producer 2000-4000
Exectutive Producer 4000-+
Or just do anyway with them... Some of the posts that have been put up by "ledgends" are hardly worth that title.

Posted: 6/5/05 at 2:59pmi think after a certain number of posts you should be able to pick your own title...

I rather like the designations -- they're fun. But I agree they need a tuning: why don't we just re-adjust the numbers, with Broadway Legend at 5000 posts? Everyone will get demoted, but it's better than having everyone as a "Broadway legend."
This is my 3618th post.
