my cat HAS tried that, although thankfully the couch was too far away from the aquarium and he fell short.
the LAST thing that cat needs is to be hit on the head. he's dumb enough already.

The cat hitting his head on the fish tank won't hurt him. One of my cats got his head slammed in a freezer door once and he survived. He was just lying on the floor for a little bit seeing stars.
We also had a 6 week old kitten jump off the balcony into the living room on the couch because she saw everyone downstairs and didn't think to go back down the stairs.
Another one tried to jump on a bookshelf and slammed into something on it and fell to the ground. I got scared that she was hurt, but she walked away with this look on her face like "I meant to do that."
