Anyone else catch the premiere?

I haven't seen the original Danish version but was very intrigued by the pilot and second episode. Sure the plot reminded me of Twin Peaks, but with a very different tone.

The acting, particularly from Mireille Enos and Michelle Forbes, was excellent. I'll definitely be following this.

I just started watching all the episodes... I am hooked! the acting is just top notch.. michelle forbes as the grieving mother is just heartbreaking to watch... i've seen her in many shows but this is the first where i've been truly impressed with her... and joel kinnaman as the partner is just so intriguing to watch... such a creepy unhinged character that i love every time he's on screen... and merielle enos just has this way of not talking that conveys so much... her stare is so subtley intense... and she also reminds me of an adult Pippi Longstocking! haha

Hooked as well. I watched the first four episodes straight online.

I really like Mirielle Enos and Joel Kinnaman (who is Swedish and is pretty much making his English-speaking debut) together as partners. Ying and Yang those two, especially in the case of Kinnaman's character.

Michelle Forbes was so heartbreaking in the first few episodes as the mother. I could not believe this was the same woman who played Maryann Forrester in True Blood. And Rosie's brothers... my goodness.

I am still trying to figure out how the Mayoral campaign can figure into this. I am willing to accept the Richmond campaign had nothing to do with it but I wonder if the case will be this special civic cause. I do enjoy Billy Campbell's take on the candidate. Sort of milquetoast, sort of slick, but very ambiguous.

It sort of reminds me more of David Fincher's Se7en or really just about anything in David Fincher's filmography with the tone and photography.

YES! anytime those little brothers are onscreen i almost can't watch!! those two kids impress me with how much genuine sadness is in their portrayal

and yeah... so different from Maryanne on True Blood... also different from the Admiral she played in Battlestar Galactica!

have you got to the teacher's wife yet? the second i saw her i knew who she was and i was right... its Ashley Johnson (aka Chrisy Seaver from Growing Pains) all grown up!!! she looks so different

I've been watching this since the Pilot given the good reviews it got and I think it just gets better and better each week. It's great storytelling, has great characters played by really good, interesting actors and it's engrossing while at the same time taking its time.
I agree that Mirelle Enos and Joel Kinnaman have a really complex, interesting chemistry that just makes me want to keep watching the show. Michelle Forbes must at least be nominated for an Emmy, she's just so good. I actually wanted her to win the Emmy for TRUE BLOOD and she didn't get nominated. This is a really heartbreaking role and she just knocks it out of the park, I hope she's recognized.
I love the storytelling. I'm really curious as to how the campaign is connected to the murder. I love it's inspired by something like TWIN PEAKS, MYSTIC RIVER and definitely SILENCE OF THE LAMBS and yet it has its very unique tone without completely rejecting the legacy of those pieces. It's such a great watch.

Count me among the fans!

I'm thinking that the guy who works with Rosie's dad is the one who did it. Something is off about him.

so the season finale just ended... and i know people will hate it and i can see why... but i loved the finale! that cliffhanger was pretty frustrating and awesome and made me want to find so much more about Holder... that guy is a great character and Joel Kinniman once again is just great in the role... how long must wait?!?! Great show and so happy it got picked up for a season 2!

I really think this series has gotten a raw deal from some TV critics and viewers who want a procedural where there is a bow wrapped for them at the end of each episode. With that said, I wish the middle episodes of the season were tighter and wished the focus remained on Rosie. I found the parts about her high school crowd fascinating and wished that part of the story comes back. It would also help if sometimes Linden and Holder did not come off as bad detectives some of the time.

I feel bad for Mitch and if I were her sister I would not know how to react to the mixed messages Stan just sent her when he told her Mitch left.

I thought it was an uneven season, and honestly I don't mind the cliffhanger (aside from the fact that they said they were going to reveal the killer for sure).

What bugged me is how bad the case was handled. There were times, especially tonight, where I thought "Wait...you didn't do this yet?"

yeah there were times i thought how they didn't know to do some of the stuff... but for some reason it didn't bother me where it would in another show...

and yes the season was a bit uneven but i enjoyed it... i will say... my favorite episode was the one a couple weeks ago where it was only Joel Kinniman and Mereille Enos for basicaly the entire hour... it was great watching those two interact because they have just great chemistry which made the cliffhanger even more great

just bumping to see if anyone watched it at all... the season finale aired... second season was also uneven and fairly frustrating.. but i felt the conclusion was extremely satisfying and quite shocking... didn't really see that final twist coming...

all in all i think it's been a pretty great season with some great performances

I thought the twist was shattering because of where it came out, right in front of Stan and Midge.

Although I would miss Holder, it may be good if they follow American Horror Story's lead and do a different city/killing next. Unless they drag out a trial, which is unlikely considering the confession/breakdown, what more can they say about Seattle with those characters?

LOVED the finale. I guess I'm one of the few people who actually enjoyed the surprise twist to the Season 1 finale. This show has trained you to expect twists. When Jamie was dead within 15 mins of the ep's start, I knew something had to be up. What I love is that this time, the twist wasn't about some red herring out of nowhere, but was more about the emotional wreckage of the revelation. Watching Terry's confession and seeing the flashback to the river (and hearing Rosie's screams for mercy)? That was excruciating. I think it offered enough resolution without abandoning the show's spirit and its Scandinavian origins. Really hope we get a third season, but I'll be surpried if we do. I read that the show costs over $3M/episode. I'll be surprised if AMC finds the modest ratings enough to warrant a third season.

I, too, thought the season got off to a rocky start, but really picked up steam about 4-5 eps ago. I'm glad I stuck with it. I found the ending satisfying...and horrifying. Oh, Terry...you a mess.
