I agree with this guy on just about everything he says!

God forbid.
He needs to stick to his travel shows.
God forbid? Oh puh-lease.
You need to grow up and stick to your fairy tales Roxy. Whats on Fox right now?
I think you both need to stick it where the sun don't shine.
Where's that?
Alaska six months out of the year?
LOL!
Our new game around here is, "What's on FOX right now?"
I always say that it will be a story tearing up the new healthcare plan...I almost always win.
But my daughter won twice for guessing that it would be a story about a Christian being discriminated against at work or school.
Sounds like a very easy game but a fun one. Staying on topic,I found this and Bill hits the nail right on the head!

"AMERICA NEEDS TO GROW UP & ACT LIKE EUROPE!"
America came together in 1776. How's that European Union thing working out? Have you agreed on a Constitution yet? Oh yeah, America should act like Europe.
And if America acted like Europe lispy little Rick Steves would be out of job. That's the whole point of his Europe through the rear end show, that Europe and America are different places.

Bill Maher is entertaining especially if you agree with him, but I don't find him terribly credible. He is like the liberal Glen Beck. He has to be a showman first and a truth teller second (well maybe third after being smug).
Case and point he said on his show, concerning H1N1 vaccine:
"Why would you let them be the ones to stick a disease into your arm? I would never get a swine flu vaccine or any vaccine. I don’t trust the government, especially with my health."
Parker Pope, Tara. New York Times. http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/10/13/bill-maher-vs-the-flu-vaccine/
Now if he doesn't trust the government with his health why does he want socialized health care? The answer is simple. He just want to make a joke, be sensational. He'll let the logic be sorted out later by people who think for themselves. Certainly they aren't watching his show.

"Goth, your as bad as Roxy!According to you, we are socialist Marxist Commies."
Right this moment, the House is debating and voting on a healthcare bill that says if you don't purchase healthcare you can go to jail. Well Miss Sally Bowles, you better wake up. If may be fun to sit in a theater and watch the rise of a dictatorship, but you're seeing it for real right now in America.
Goth, you proved my point! Surprised you did not somehow bring Hitler into your idiotic rant.Maybe you should move to France. Their Health care is far better than ours and there is no Obama there, so all should be well.Get some help.......Fast!
I can't stand the way Bill Maher will say something he thinks is groundbreaking and just wait, looking stupid, for people to respond. I love it when there's no response. lol He said that children with special needs are really the same as pet dogs. He's like Anne Coulter. They say the most polarized thing they can to get people talking. I mean, they dated. They appear to be the most opposite people on the planet. I don't buy it.
He said that children with special needs are really the same as pet dogs
I didn't realize he'd said that. What a ridiculous comment. My sister is special needs and I put her over my pets. At least when I tell her to stop licking herself she does.
Many of the children I work with wouldn't understand the request, but I would hardly equate them with animals.
Nothing is quite so simple.
Institutionally, the European Union is corrupt and undemocratic and its Parliament has little power.
Never the less, when it comes to issues such as those spoken about in the video, teenage pregnancy rates, social cohesion and social stability many of the mainland European countries have better statistics than those of Britain or the USA.
From a personal point of view, I am very much aware of the fact that legislation that has come from Brussels in the last 10 years is a very good thing and I doubt that such legislation would have emerged from the putrid and stagnant democracy that currently exists in the UK.
So the message that I receive (but I don't like) is that a benign dictatorship is better than an ineffectual democracy.

It's "case in point."

Well that isn't quite true. It depends on how the statistics are tallied. For example, take infant mortality rates. In the US, if a baby is born, takes one breath and dies, it's counted as an infant death. In some European countries, a baby can live for several hours, then die and they won't count it in their infant death statistics. So of course some stats will be higher in the US because we have a different system of measurement.
Of possible interest, particularly if you've seen The Wire (which I haven't)...
