I'm getting ready to graduate from Army Basic Training at FT. Jackson! Wish me luck!!!!

I usually don't post just to criticize other posts, or get involved in anything remotely personal, but damn Evan, one post in and you've managed to defame someone who has done something noble and was sharing it with the group.

If people like singinsilly didn't sign up "to die", you wouldn't be sitting there right now safe and sound in front of your computer.

And yes, the war in Iraq is totally wrong, and I'm as liberal as they come.

one of my friends from high school is in the navy. i have a ton of respect for those who join the service.

Only if they say they are. You do not have to say you are gay. That is a choice to come out. And then, yes, you wouldn't be allowed. Please respect his or her decision, even if you don't agree with it.

Wow, Evan. That was just...totally inappropriate. I don't understand how people can be totally disrespectful of people who put their lives on the line for not only their loved ones, but a country full of people they've never even met.

Singinsilly, congratulations. My oldest brother is a former Army member and my youngest just graduated from TBS for the Marines. It's an amazing thing you people do.

Singin', I congratulate you on your accomplishment and thank you for your service. My husband was in the Army, as was his brother, sister, and some of my dearest friends. Good luck in all you do and God bless.
