I need an audition song for my sister...she's auditioning for our school musical HAIRSPRAY as PENNY...any suggestions?

I would suggest looking at some actual period music. Think the Angels ("Boyfriend's Back"), Shangri-Las ("Leader of the Pack"), or Lesley Gore ("It's My Party" or "Judy's Turn to Cry").
