Did he make someone at CNN mad?
Rumor is that Anderson Cooper will be taking over the 10pm time slot.

ooo...Anderson Cooper...I can't get enough of him. He's the only man with greying hair that I have ever found totally and completely hot. So hot I get bothered just typing about it.
I thought some people here would be pleased to hear that...
hmm...this actually surprises me -- I would think the 7:00 PM slot is better for Anderson....but I am not sure of the demographics and ratings of CNN shows...
I've actually never liked Aaron Brown. I never understood why he was a presence at CNN. He's like an annoying accountant who's been given a microphone.
Now if they only get rid of that pseudo-host AJ Hammer, I'd be really happy.
Here's the 'rumor report'...
CNN may be changing the face of its primetime lineup. Rumors are a-flying that Anderson Cooper will be moved to the primo 10p time period as anchor of NewsNight. As for Aaron Brown, CNN is rumored to be considering a second hour of NewsNight to air in the earlier time period at 7pm, thereby replacing Anderson Cooper 360º. Nothing definite and no decision or announcements have been made. And if you go looking for these guys this week - you won't find 'em. They're both on vacation.
Wow, I definitely read this board too much. I read the thread title and thought you meant out of the closet. Any other meaning of the word out didn't even cross my mind.
I'm surprised more people didn't mention the same thing.
This is a smart move on CNN's part. Aaron Brown is an intelli... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...
The rumors have been confirmed.
Though, Mr. Brown is leaving CNN entirely. He is not taking over the 7pm slot, as was initially thought.

the continued dumbing down of CNN - too bad Turner won't return and kick ass
none of the 24 hour cable news networks report news during primetime anymore - they're all useless now
Headline News still reports news, doesn't it? I was especially impressed with Brown during coverage of the Pope's death. His show did nothing for me. But then, neither does Cooper's.

Headline News has Nancy Grace, then some other show for an hour or two, then a Nancy Grace rerun, and there's a showbiz oriented show in there somewhere, too. No more headlines during primetime.
I'm a minority opinion, and think there's room for Anderson and Aaron. But anyone who's worked in TV could see the writing on the wall when they piggybacked Brown/Cooper post hurricane coverage. The team angle was transitional, and not good news for Brown.
I felt Aaron's reporting after 9/11 was among the strongest. He's a real newsman, as he actually writes, doesn't just read of do stand-up. (I think of him as a sort of male Linda Ellerbe -- another generation's hard journalist/cool demeanor.) Dare I say, he was the Anderson Cooper of 9/11. It took another crisis, Katrina, to fully bump him, even though his stock was falling. I think turning CNN into the Anderson Cooper show will eventually be too much, too. But hey, that's TV. Brown's 50-something, and not necessarily someone to have in your home every night, as this thread's posts reveal.

Plus, Darrell Hammond just perfected a Brown impersonation.
CNN is trying to target a younger demographic...
It's all about the mighty Ad Dollar.
That, and Jon Klein, the President of CNN/US clearly wasn't a fan. But, mostly it was about the ratings...and the advertising revenue:
Klein said the switch was done to build CNN's schedule around what he considers its hottest personality, Cooper, and hottest new show, "The Situation Room."
I am happy about this decision, I think he was very boring. Anderson Cooper really dosn't do anything for me either hopefully cnn will see that and get someone else.
I like both of them so I don't have strong feelings about this one way or the other. I'll continue watching Newsnight either way.
Mis-read the subject here, but am glad...tho I watch Anderson at 7pm when I get home and enjoy it.
I think Aaron Brown was popular for awhile after 9/11 when he was the marathon man for CNN, but he is really too stiff, but Anderson has a comes across as someone really interested in what he is doing...truly want to know about what he is asking if interviewing someone.
His coverage of Katrina's aftermath was really wonderful. Good for him!
