The problem with the continual extreme targeting of young males is that it's self-perpetuating. I've actually always been sort of a tomboy- I was interested in "boy" things like computers and baseball. But video games are just too much- every box has an ugly alien or some steroid addict with a gun or sword the size of his thigh on the cover. So girls turn away from video games, and the companies think that girls would never like games and make their products even more male-oriented.

And don't get me started on their half-assed attempts to make games for girls. I never wanted a stupid Barbie game about shopping. Is it too much to ask for games for, you know- people? There's a reason I love Maxis so much.

I'm a fan of video games, but suck at most of them. I played the final fantasies because of the music. I love Nobuo Uematsu. His music is remarkable.

"Applause begets applause in the theatre, as laughter begets laughter and tears beget tears." CLAYTON HAMILTON, "Theory of the Theatre" "I think theater ought to be theatrical ... you know, shuffling the pack in different ways so that it's -- there's always some kind of ambush involved in the experience. You're being ambushed by an unexpected word, or by an elephant falling out of the cupboard, whatever it is." TOM STOPPARD

I am a huge fan of video games, especially ones that 4 people can play together (like Super Smash Bros., or Mario Kart). But once I got my Gamecube my new favorite all time games are the Metroid Prime games.
