i think was before 9/11. my parents and i were going to go backpacking around Europe. we went through the metal detectors and they took my dad aside and said there was something sharp and they were going to have to take it from it. well, we had not idea what it could have been. turned out, in the very bottm of his bag was his tolieties bag and in that he had a cork screw. we had completely forgotten about that, but they took it away. it was just a mini one that we took from a hotel.

but Papa, all is relative....they see the value of this, we don't. And of our 14, 893 airports, how many are small fields? I'm betting there are only maybe 200 that would need this

Speaking of airport security, I just got back from West Palm Beach, and I was pretty impressed with their security. I had to go through one of the more intense checks, and I was brought to a separate room to have my carry on emptied and tested for chemical residue as well. The security officers that were with me were very pleasant, though they seemed a little confused as to why I and my two younger sisters had been pulled for the check in the first place. Particularly when they opened my carry on and discovered a series of AP textbooks and my teddy bear...Lol that was really rather amusing
