Al Gore is a board member of Apple Computers. Take a look at the working conditions for employees making Ipods. How about a movie on that Al?

He must be using that labor for everything these days. He's gotten to be quite the tub of lard.

Had you known seven years ago what George Dubbaya would do in government and known that about Al Gore, which would you have preferred? No matter how poor you are, no offence or rudeness intended, but its always better to be poor than to be dead.

On the other hand, I hate both. Because of the aforementioned reasons. Such labour should be against the law, for any company based in America. Or anywhere, for that matter. Companies avoid rules by registering in other countries, like shipping companies. What we should do is ban any company, American, Irish, British or Martian, from selling anything in whatever country they do business without a guarantee that no child labour or poorly paid labour was used.

Gore is the lesser of two evils. Or at least he was November 2000.

The rain we knew is a thing of the past -
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

Gore, at least, has a good track record with companies. Bush couldn't even manage a baseball team well. Hell, not manage. OWN!

What red herring? Do they even mention Gore's name in the article?

Could the red herring have anything to do with the fact that Gore was mentioned in the title of the thread...but not mentioned in the article?

I was going to say the thread title is a little misleading.

And the article references a report in another newspaper that is "not available online". The whole thing is sounds like sour grapes, but this is my favorite line...

"Apple is just one of thousands of companies that now use Chinese facilities to manufacture its products, the report observes."

What I don't understand is, the Chinese consumption of gasoline is one of the main factors to our prices being so high; so, how the hell do they afford gas on that kind of salary?

it's not the individuals as much as the industries. as china's manufacturing sector has grown so has the need for transportation to get those goods from the factories to the airport or seas. plus the number of flights carrying goods has increased as well. much of that manufacturing base is state owned, so the government is the one buying the fuel more often than the individual. but as manufacturing has increased so have the salaries of managers and tech workers. while much of china's population has been left out of the boom there, remember, with over a billion people even a fraction of them moving into a position in which they might buy or drive a car puts a strain on oil. but, that said, china's a red herring as for why gas prices are high here.

RULE # 78

"If anyone in the conservative circle/GOP are involved in any scandal that would make the party look bad, drag out either Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Monicagate, or how liberals hate god & kill babies. This will take the attention off that conservative & begin a new focus on the liberal."

RULE # 79

If you begin to loose a debate, bring up Bill Clinton or Al Gore. This almost always works. If that doesn't just begin to shout. Whoever shouts the loudest wins any debate ( Bill O'Reilly wrote this rule)

Goth, your so sad.Hate to break it to you, but "An Inconvenient Truth" is already considered a hit. It has not only made its money back but it has shown a decent profit as well.

I figured I'd plug Gore's new movie since you seem to want to spotlight him today! In case you were wondering,We're all LAUGHING at you Goth!
