I can't be the only one who thinks there are 'must have' classical recordings . . .

Actually, Jane, yes I do - I'm a big country fan, and love the Mandrells!
I met Barbara once, and she was a DOLL

Ooh. Guster! I love that CD. (I also love Little Earthquakes, Hunky Dory, Rumours, and a few others but none of them surprised me, so no special mention.)
There's nothing I love that I would say "everyone" or even "most people" should own, but I could start with the great 21st century cliche...
(Almost surprised this one hasn't been mentioned yet.)
(lol, if only for New Religion...)
(At least some Neko Case. I just have a special fondness for this one.)
Whatever, so it's some unsigned Chicago rock band no one has heard of, but it's one of my favorites of all time. Plus, everyone should own it because everyone can own it for free. See, here, download it:

and to end on something halfway facetious (be glad I didn't put Ashlee Simpson's Bittersweet World instead...)

A classic jazz album that should not be missed.
Widely regarded as one of the best hip-hop albums ever. Classic, positive, meaningful, old-school hip-hop. A far cry from a lot of the mainstream hip-hop of today.

I agree with Tapestry, JG! That's my number one...number two and three?
