All the Real Girls

After the "Ripley" thread, I thought it might be fun to discuss a different, random movie every couple of days.

Has anyone seen this teeny-tiny indie? It stars Zooey Deschanel and Patricia Clarkson, and was one of the best films of 2003. It is a beautifully made/acted/directed romantic drama.

If you haven't seen it, rent it. You won't forget it.

I saw it! I really liked it and I thought Zooey and Paul Schneider(I think that is his name) were incredibly sweet and sincere in it.

Personally, I hated this film, except for Zooey's lovely performance. I also hated David Gordon Green's little seen follow up, "Undertow".

"Zooey Deschanel"

is that the same Zooey that was in 'Elf'?

HeresJohnny, it was the same actress.

Green did "Undertow"?!?! I hated that movie. I can't believe it was the same guy.

My wife and I would have walked out of "Undertow", but we stopped doing that when NYC movie theatres raised the price of admission to $10.25.

Thanks B'way 86. I will see this movie then. I thought she was cute in Elf.

re: All the Real Girls

She's pretty funny in "Elf", and has a very cute singing voice.

Did anybody see "Eulogy"? God, that was just about the worst movie ever made.

re: All the Real Girls

"Eulogy" was painful like nobodies buisness. It was all kinds of bad.

I haven't seen "Eulogy". Was it David Gordon Green's also?

re: All the Real Girls

No, it wasn't. I can't even remember who directed it, and I don't want to. It had a smashing cast-Ms. Deschanel, Debra Winger, Hank Azaria, Ray Romano, etc.-but it was just bad beyond belief. Another time I would have walked out. Damn you, NYC prices!
