I personally thought Melinda was not very good last night. She was one of my least favorites.
And why must we all be so cynical? Why can't we just go on believing it's all about the talent?

I didn't think she was that great, but I thought Janay would have left before her. Her performance was pathetic.

Oh, please. Fox will keep doing whatever they want because they'll always have a never-ending supply of desperate kids for the show.

Why did they do it like that? That was really cruel.

Who was the girl who sang Get Ready or something like that? The one that was eliminated tonight.

Oh yeah!
She might as well have been singing "I Dreamed a Dream" the way she looked.

People really think it's the end of the world when they get eliminated. Like the contestant with the lowest votes will be denied oxygen.

You know, though, I never have liked the way the make the eliminated ones sing, just after they've been devastated. But then again, it does make some fun tele watching!
Well... in all fairness, she had just been voted out and had all of dreams shattered. I guess she just wasn't feeling all that upbeat.

That's what I mean. It's kinda cruel to make them sing just after they've heard they lost.
I think Fantasia definitely was the best in her year amidst tough competition from Latoya and Jennifer.
I agree with 3 of the people being voted out. I didn't like that Judd was knocked off. He had a lot of great energy. I'm at a point with this show where energy excites me more than who can stand and wail the most. This is why my current 4 faves are Nadia, Mikalah, Mario, and the aloha girl.
I agree. I'm all about the energy.... Sigh... (remembering George Huff's rendition of Lean on Me).
I don't know why I keep getting sucked into watching the results show, when night after night I bitch about how pointless all the filler and drawn out "suspense" is. What they did to Huff was crappy, and I would have reacted more like the first girl who was stunned silent if I were him.
I hated the way they did things today. I also do not like the seperation of sexes this year.
What if the guys are stronger then the girls or vise versa? You get an unbalanced top 12. Of course I'll still watch because its completely addicting, but I really don't like this.
Also, the first girl off was completely correct. If they didn't show any of that Mikayla girl in the previous episodes, people would have thought she was annoying.

I disagree with what is being said about Season 1 of A.I. To me, it was the only year the show's voting was fair. People voted on the performance for that night, not for the person's overall performances. The week that Tamyra Gray was voted off, she gave the worst performance. Not that she wasn't better than some of the people who were left, just not that week, and that's the way it should be. Each performance can make or break you.

I vote for Nadia.
(well, not technically since I'm cheap and I'm not spending my money to send a text..but hey, it's the thought that counts)

It was truly bizarre the way they announced which boy was leaving. I loved the "WTF" look on the last two guys when he told them to go sit down. I can only guess they want to create an "Anything can Happen" vibe, but still. It was downright sadistic.
And yes, obviously the producers promote and feature they kids they think are the most likely to win, but really, they have absolutely NOTHING to gain by pre-selecting winners or advancing performers that the audience doesn't like. They are guided purely by ratings. And America is a fickle bitch. The most popular song or film is usually some icky piece of pooh with a good marketing campaign. Why would this show be any different?

I loved Judd, but he wasn't American Idol-ish. I've seen two of his songs and they were both Elvis. That's not American Pop.
And some people don't even look like American Idol...I won't mention who.
Elvis isn't American Pop? I'ma give you a chance to re-think that.
