Katie should've been in the top 3 - replacing the flat Matt.

I woulda put Jennifer Hudson in the top 3. I think that America chose the right 2--they were def the best. And Fantasia is definitely a star. =)

she looks like like debbie gibson i agree. i think matt was horrible. my friend karaoke's that song way way better then he performed it that night. so i was unimpressed.

I think Matt got those votes based on his looks alone. Did you know that he is a pal of Clay Aiken? Too bad he didn't have Clay's vocal range.

Does anyone remember when they had that show that was like American Idol, but it was for kids who were too young to audition for AI? It was on like last fall, or the summer of 2002. Mario Lopez was the host, and they too had celebrity judges....as well as different age catgories.
I know that girl Diana was on it. I knew I recognized her; and when I saw her mother I was sure of it.
I thought it was against the rules for any of these contestants to have sung nationally?

Yes I do remember her being on that show... it was not an american idol show, it was similar on a different channel, cant remember the name , and it had different age catergories and they could sing, dance or whatever....
as far as if they are allowed to have been on national TV prior i am not sure.. but that guy.. Marque Lynch, he used to be on the Mickey Mouse Club, when britney was on it, saw this on access hollywood, so not sure.. i think you cannot have a recording contract prior...

Katie has AMAZING presence- a voted for her like 20 times after the show, and I was crossing my fingers for her to get through. I think she'll come back for the wildcard show, though.
