I predict she will be nominated next year. Maybe TWICE, as lead and supporting, but since Miss Pettigrew is a comedy, that is probably unlikely.
I'm sad that she lost. She was fabulous in Enchanted.
Oh, well.
She wasn't nominated, Corine. What are you talking about?
And, yeah, she's definitely going to be a heavy favorite next year for DOUBT. At least I hope so.
...
I love her, and did like the performance, but was she really singing live? Her mouth seemed a wee bit behind the vocals around the middle of the song.
She deserved a nod over Cate Blanchett this year (then again so did Helena Bonham Carter), but oh well.
If DOUBT turns out to be a good art film with fabulous performances, I hope Viola Davis, Adams, and Streep are all nominated.
If the film turns out as it should, I think Streep, Hoffman and Adams will all be nominated.
She was all right, but for some reason her pitch bothered me.
I thought she did a great job--remember when actors could sing AND act?
I knew she was singing the song in context, so the gestures didn't bother me.
It was also impressive to hear someone sing live for a change.
I thought the musical numbers were MUCH better than usual--the SONGS were pretty nondescript, as a rule, but the production numbers weren't embarassing for once.
shes very cute (and sexy), and i like her alot... you could tell she wasnt a trained professional, but she was sweet...
the one that i thought sucked was kristin chenowith... i was like damn... why does she sound so bad?? isnt she broadway legend or something?
I thought Amy was robbed. They put all their production money into their star (Cheno) and gave the actual star of the film nothing. It was embarrassment - especially when Cheno turned out to be so bad.
I didn't think Cheno was bad--just an odd performance style for this number and venue--she reminded me of Kathy Lee doing her Vegas act.

I'm pretty sure she was singing live.
I was not impressed with her or the songs... I'm sure if I had seen the movie I would have enjoyed it a bit more.
Love Amy. I thought she did what she could have with what she was given, but she really ought to have been given the chance to sing "That's How You Know." Kristin wasn't very impressive. Maybe the rationale was that only Amy could pull off "Happy Working Song" out of the context of the film.
Amy was the best performance of the night. I thought she was robbed of a nomination over Cate Blanchett. She wasn't good in ELIZABETH 2. But really, how was SO CLOSE nominated over LADIES CHOICE?
