Amy Winehouse nominated for six Grammy awards — Page 5

I was shocked to see that she's not had a non-soundtrack album sell over 100,000 copies. I think her claim to fame as a recording artist would be The Cabaret Soundtrack (With "Maybe This Time" and "Cabaret" serious record of the year possibilities), Liza with a Z Soundtrack and "New York New York" (Which won it's awards for Frank Sinatra).

I wouldn't call her a powerhouse recording artist, but when you see crap like Bette's Christmas album get nominated...Those "Traditional Pop vocal" categories are pretty damn thin.

Well, there was the Pet Shop Boys album, although it didn't do so hot in the U.S.

I had that Charles Aznavour album she did - I loved it. Probably not a big seller though.

The traditional album category is always a difficult category. This year is no difference. Even Streisand's live performance was nominated and I though she sounded horrible (I am a fan). Buble will probably win - he is the Sinatra/Bennett heir apparent, so he should be a shoo-in.
