Imagine a large white platform signifying polar ice. Crowded together on it are a couple dozen basses all in white- they are polar bears. They sing a repeating theme. As the opera progresses, the platform gets smaller and smaller and one by one the polar bears drop off the platform into the void. As the opera ends, the spotlight is on the last remaining bear, still singing, with a desperate look on his face. Blackout.

It will bring the house down.
