Awesome!

Interesting read, but still harping on the seperate but equal thing which is never equal. Heck, you can still be fired from your job in 30 states for being gay. Until full marriage equality is ours we will be the group setting at the back of the bus.
I say they should outlaw re-marriage after you get a divorce. Then the sanctity of marriage will be inforced.
I highly doubt Obama will do anything for gay people anyhow.

"I highly doubt Obama will do anything for gay people anyhow. "
That's the spirit.

Actually, divorce should be criminalized. I've continually written to the Yes on 8 people to ask if that's their next step, but they've yet to respond.

Posted: 11/7/08 at 4:40pmThe whole thing with DOMA is that it still doesn't protect gays and lesbians from groups like YES on 8/Focus on the Family from denying Civil Union rights. Focus on the Family is planning to ammend state constitutions next to ban domestic partnerships. This has happened in a few states already, and I believe in just happened in Florida. They WILL come to California to ban civil unions, so until we get full equal rights under the term marriage and we will not be safe.

Can we just LET GO of the freakin' separate-but-equal meme!?!
I don't care if Phase One is separate as long as it's EQUAL!
Then we can worry about Phase Two.
But as long as we demand Phase Three upfront, we will lose loss after loss after loss after loss.
Let's pick some winnable battles and WIN THEM!

Yes, let's keep up your strategy PJ and actually have people PAY TO AMEND STATE CONSTITUTIONS!
Don't you understand this is "how they get us?" By they I mean DEMOCRATS. Keeping this in local and state courts has done nothing for us. This needs to be advanced as soon as possible the Federal level.
If state law can be overturned at any time then why even bother? It's a massive waste of money and this is not going to turn. It's never going to turn if places like California ban it.
re: An answer to Proposition 8: Repealing DOMA#7
Posted: 11/7/08 at 4:54pmSorry, but no we can't. Rosa Parks didn't say "sure thing boss, gonna keep setting at the back of the bus!" and neither should the gay community. This is 2008 and I sure as hell don't want to finally be able to get married when I'm 60. I want it a bit sooner. And as I just stated--the next step for anti-gay groups is to pass anti-domestic partnership props (as they just did in Florida!) so we won't even have that once they come back around to California so what good is DOMA repeal unless we repeal ALL discrimination for gays?

I don't know how putting that initiative on the ballot was constitutional. I just don't understand.
Apparently if you have enough money you can pay to pass laws denying rights to Jews, Asians and Women.
This would have just kept on coming back, over and over again. What's the definition of insanity again?
