Anne Hathaway does have a nose for project that, unlike for many of us on the other side, turns out better than imagined or deserved. So it could work as Judy Garland. But that's not what I would to see her do. I would much rather see Anne play the She Hulk's alter ego among several other young actresses (if not ever Molly Ringwald) than touching the Judy project.

About the height thing too: Marion Cottilard is 5'10" and played the 4'11" Edith Piaff.

I can't imagine why Anne Hathaway would want to do this? The funny thing about it, to me, is that years and years ago, I thought her mother could have played Judy Garland. She never became famous, though. I don't think it about Hathaway.

LOL. Yes, worded rather strangely, isn't it? I don't think Hathaway would make a good Garland. I did think her mother, had she been famous, would have made a good Garland.

I'm extremely excited for this, I assume that that's because I don't have the kind of connection to Garland as most of you do, plus I haven't seen the original you guys are mentioning. Plus, I didn't get around to seeing "A Star Is Born" until like two days ago. *Hides face in shame* I'm sure I'll enjoy her acting, and I'll just try my hardest not to think about the original while she's doing her own singing.

Liza's quite famous and makes a terrible Garland. Which just shows to go ya, you never know.

No, I can't. Do you want to explain it to me? I can't imagine anyone, other than some people who post here, being even remotely interested in seeing it. If she wants to sing, why not look for a property where she can be herself?

Honestly, JohnBoy? You can't imagine any of Anne Hathaway's fans from her performances in such BLOCKBUSTER SUCCESSES like The Princess Diaries, Brokeback Mountain and The Devil Wears Prada wanting to see her play Judy Garland?

You can't imagine any of those MILLIONS of young female moviegoing fans would want to see this?

Come on, stop being obtuse.

She's a perfectly viable actress to play Judy Garland in a biopic. The question is whether it's a good idea for her to sing rather than lipsynch.
