#0Another audition song thread- For an Alto/Mezzo

I'm sorry for making another thread, but I've tried searching and haven't really come up with any answers to my question. I'm looking for audition songs. Not for a specific show or anything... I guess I'm trying to put together a portfolio of songs so that I don't have to scramble over to the library every time an audition comes up. I'm 15, and my range is from a low F# (below the staff) to a high G. I typically sing alto parts, though I've sung mezzo songs before. Songs I've sung in the past include Home, On My Own, In My Own Little Corner, Anything Goes and If Momma Was Married (which I couldn't stand at all).
If you have any suggestions for me, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

Posted: 7/15/05 at 2:32amI'm also a mezzo, and it's hard to find material. They trouble for me is finding things that show range. It's easy to find belty, easy to find headvoice, easy to find alto in seperate pieces, but I can't find much that uses more than one. If it's any help, right now I'm working on "I will be loved tonight" and some stuff from "Starting Here, Starting Now." Also, "A Place Called Home" is along the lines of what you've done in the past.

Boy next door is good becuase it starts off slow and then builds up to a crescendo. You made me love you is my favorite because of the notes. Come on get happy can get really tiring after awhile but if you can do it you wont regret picking that song.
