I might have to watch that. I've been wanting to see Eccleston in something other than Doctor Who. (This weekend I actually got to see the rest of his episodes that I'd missed.)
New TARDIS interior. Very modern looking:
TARDIS Interior
I saw Christopher Eccleston in "Seeker; Dark Is Rising", and I recognizedc him by his voice---my head was down, the tv was on, then I hear that distinctive voice...I can't wait to see him as Lennon, what a great clip!

I must say, I like how the new TARDIS looks on the inside. Interesting choice seeing as how the new costume is more on a classic side. I wonder if and how the interior will represent the new Doctor's character.
There's also a synopsis out for episode #7. Sounds like it's going to be an emotional one, as well as something quite new for Doctor Who:
Episode 7 Synopsis
Actually, every episode synopsis. Don't look if you don't want spoilers because they are here:
Series 5 Episodes
I was very intrigued by what I read in those synopses. Episode 7 especially! So many things to look forward to!
BTW, Turn Left is on tonight!

kec - please put "spoiler"
It definitely looks like quite the season. Especially with Steve Moffat writing so many episodes.
I'm turning down 'Turn Left' to continue watching the episodes in order. By tonight I should be finished with 'Love and Monsters'.

Wow, cool. I'm not exactly sure about Eccleston's impersonation of a Liverpool accent, but that won't be a huge factor for my tin American ears. And now that I really think about it, Eccleston is a great choice when you want someone to play a person as charismatic and iconoclastic as John Lennon. This...might not be as off-puttingly odd as I thought it might be.
As for next season of Who - for once in my life, I am thoroughly spoiler-free. I don't know anything you can't see in the teaser trailer - not even what the new TARDIS interior looks like. And I'm hoping that every surprise on the 3rd is a good one. I'm so ready to move on from RTD it's ridiculous. Bring on the Moffat.
Neil Gaiman tweeted last night about his episode for the next (next) series, and that it should be episode #3. I'm very excited!
And there's been another clip released. Spoilers, I think, but not terrible ones:
Another Eleventh Hour Clip
ATTENTION NY WHO FANS!!!!!! Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Steven Moffat will be in NYC April 14 for a special screening of the first episode followed by a Q&A session!!! Details below:
Doctor Who Screening NY Village East Cinema
That...is...AWESOME! Don't think I can go, but still, that is pretty awesome. Props to the Doctor Who team for deciding to come all the way here.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA?! I am so excited about this! I'm gonna take the entire day off! No auditions, no work, no nothing...just Doctor Who day! Oh my GOD this is exciting!
And I just popped in to say I saw a Doctor Who ad on a NYC bus today going down Columbus!
Oh, happy day!
Be sure to take notes and report back to us ASAP!
Premier of the 'Eleventh Hour' today in the U.K. It's not even airing here and I'm excited. Probably because reviews and comments will be popping up...
I'm steadily making my way through Series 3.

Was the Jonathan Ross episode Matt Smith was on that aired last night on BBCA a rerun?
My TV schedule said it was new, but it might have aired in the U.K. awhile ago. Still have to watch it...
No, that was a first run episode. The UK got that JR program last week, we got it last night.

I can happily report Who was absolutely incredible. Matt Smith is BRILLIANT and my love for Moffatt's writing has been vindicated. Plus Karen Gillan is utterly stunning.
I'm bummed I won't be able to get to NYC for this---but at least the show starts in two weeks! (Unless I Hardison the UK premiere!)
That's good to know. I've been checking Twitter to see what people think, and it's wildly varied, but I think it'll be a solid show regardless. Still, won't know till I see it in two weeks. I just hope it lives up to all the hype surrounding it.
I just watched the episode and final verdict: 3.5 out of 5. Let me explain! There were moments of pure BRILLIANCE but then there were moments of "Oh, c'mon!" Granted, the very first episode of season 1 and David Tennant's intro are not even close to being the best in the overall cannon. It's like they wanted to say "HERE'S THE NEW DOCTOR IN ACTION" and they kinda sacrificed a little of the story to do it. But, and it's a big BUT, the parts that had nothing to do with the villain were pure amazingness.
As to Matt Smith.....I think he is going to be a great doctor. He has the energy of Tennant but the stature and way of thinking as Tom Baker. I think this Doctor is the perfect hybrid of the two incarnations. And Karen Gillan as the new companion? It's a little too early but I think she is going to turn out to be great. She has a little of Donna's attitude but not as "in your face" as Donna was.
The dialogue and tone is, in my opinion, what makes this episode (and hopefully the series as a whole) brilliant. Stephen Moffat's episodes of Seasons 1-4 are standouts because of these elements. You feel for the characters and he makes you pay attention to what they are saying and how they think. There is one particular scene where the Doctor tries to remember what he saw earlier and the way it was filmed and acted was amazing.
The villain? WEAK!!! And the special effects were downright laughable. The thing that made Moffat's stories so great, was that it was minimal special effects or things you couldn't see. With this, it was special effects crazy and really fake looking. Hopefully this is not a trend with the new series.
Overall, it was a pretty good episode but no where near the caliber it needs to be. But, we have a whole season for it to get better
Ps. I am not a fan of the new intro. A little too much, I think!
