I still watch every week. It's hit or miss but I usually find a few skits from every episode that I find funny.
I thought John Mulaney's recent turn as host was great. Loved the bodega sketch.

Been a steady viewer since the " Not Ready For Prime Time Player" Occ work meant I had to miss an episode but still pretty faithful. the ones w John Mulcahey have been some of the best IMO

We've become more faithful viewers again now that they've started airing new episodes at 8:30pm here on the west coast (I guess to honor the LIVE part of SNL). Usually we manage to hang on through Weekend Update (by far our favorite sequence week in and week out), then fall asleep well before the final cast hugs.
With the Vulture recaps we can usually watch all the good sketches we slept through the night before.

I've been watching since 1975 when it was first called NBC's Saturday Night. It was an odd show at first, almost amateurish. But it quickly became watercooler talk and very popular. Outstanding cast and skits — Samurai DryCleaners (Samuari anything actually)... Unsafe Christmas Toys... Cheeseburger, Cheeseburger... Pepsi. Belushi, Aykroyd, Chase, Radner. When Andy Kaufman was on he shook things up for audiences, making SNL truly cutting edge.
Then a malaise and some bad years, boring. But loved the jolt Eddie Murphy, Chris Farley, Phil Hartman, Mike Myers, Dana Carvey, Adam Sandler, Jimmy Fallon, and Tina Fey brought to the game.
Currently, Alec Baldwin is doing an amusing Trump. But right now the show is more or less in a malaise again because of a less than stellar cast. I tape episodes now and skim through them. While I am a John Mulaney fan (saw Oh, Hello on Broadway twice), I thought he raced through his monologue too quickly and the show was dull except for the Bodega skit, which was fun.

Have watched since the very beginning. In a time when we didn't have a gajillion stations and shows, it was a big deal and must see tv. On Monday at school everyone would be talking about it.
Over the years, with the exception of a few, it was like a standing appointment to watch. And am still watching. I do love the current cast.
So I will throw out a question. Does anyone have a favorite sketch? I always waited for Judy Miller. I have 2 stand alone sketches that are my all time favorites. The Richard Pryor Exorcist II sketch is a classic. Further back, there was a skit about a dessert topping, called Shimmer, that was also a floor wax. It just had me on the floor.

Sketches*** not skits. Sorry to be a comedy nerd like that but there is a difference haha. Great choices! All time, man thats a real tough one. This isn't my favorite ever, but arguably one of my favorite moments ever watching SNL. That sketch, was Farewell Mr Bunting. The pure SHOCK I had added to the hilarity that ensued. Man, I will never forget that sketch. That entire Fred Armisen episode is gold but that sketch in particular has always stood out to me for some reason. For this season, Id say the best sketches have been the career day from Adam Driver's episode, House Hunters, Weezer, War On Words, and Bar Fight from the Don Cheadle episode standout to me. As well as anything Mulaney has done the past 2 seasons.
Also, anyone have any faovrite/least favorite episodes from the last couple seasons? For me all of S42 is pretty iconic, so its hard to compare those to the last 2 seasons. But from 43 Id say Chance The Rapper, Will Ferrell, Sterling K Brown, Hader, and Donald Glover have been my favorites.

Well obviously all the classics Like the Christmas "Elf" sketch w Candace Bergen and the Lisa Loopner/Todd Dilamuca bits( Bill Murray trying to open the sofa bed while still in a passionate kiss w Gilda Radner) Pretty much anything w Gilda Radner & Dan Aykroyd and of course "Jane you ignorant slut"
More recently
The porn stars trying to do ads for high end merch always breaks me up.
ALL the Tina Fey Amy Poehler stuff ( the Palin interview!)
ANYthing Kate McKinnon does. ( too many to mention)

Also, hate to be the bearer of bad news, but how do we all feel about Kenan's potential departure after this season? I know, this is brought up literally all the time. But, he has a new pilot, a judge on some new NBC comedy show, as well as producing the revival of All That. I can see him hanging on for one more season, but probably not after that. I pray I am wrong, as he has been a true constant for me on television since I was a kid. But if it is his last season, this show BETTER give us one last "Whats Up With That?"

My favorite SNL sketch ever was Brenda The Waitress, which featured Jan Hooks as Brenda The Waitress in some Texas Diner, dealing with the extreme sexual tension between herself and Alec Baldwin as the Butchest Cowboy Ever. The coded innuendo in the sketch is a joy to behold, never more so than when Brenda remarks that Baldwin is "sittin on that stool like he's doin it a favor."
Seek it out.

Thought it was a decent episode with Sandra Oh. Cheques, Electric Shoes, and "TIsh" were my favorites.
Also... just announced that Adam Sandler will be hosting on May 4th with MG Shawn Mendes!!!! Sandler coming back!!!

Really enjoyed this week's episode . Kit Harington was really committed. (Really liked his six pack in the Bridal shower sketch) The "Frank Sinatra' bit was totally absurd - IN A GOOD WAY(not My Way) Update was fine but not great and I loved all the GoT spinoffs esp GoT Special Victims Unit (produced by Dire Wolf)

Also very much enjoyed this past weeks episode. Kit was a fantastic host who would've done even better with better writing. Well done, Kit. The video game one was my favorite I think.

I found it very uneven. The In the Ladies Room skit was What? Half baked ?Pointless? ( a waste of time & talent I felt). The Actress was good . The View was OK- they have mined this bit many times. Kate Mckinnon! Is there anything she can't do?

For the past 10 years or so, I've been DVR-ing it every week (just the new eps) and skimming through it on Sunday morning. I always watch the cold open and 'Weekend Update' and either watch the other sketches if they hold my attention (not always, lately), or FF through it.
Classic sketch for me is Tina Fey in any Sarah Palin sketch at all, but the Katie Couric interview is a stand-out. That's when we got "I can see Russia from my house".
