I have only ever seen it once, but Rolf singing it's "A Dogs Life" would have to be on of my favorite muppet songs.
Have been watching the show in reruns on cable, just hoping to see this again, does anyone else remember this?

I love GROVER and a long time ago my ex boyfriend bought me Grover Sings The Blues. It was one of the cutest gifts anyone ever gave me.
I no longer have a record player though.
Does anyone know if Grover sings the blues was recorded on a cd.
I would kill for a copy.
It would remind me of Tom.

"Does anyone else cry every time they listen to/watch the scene from Muppets Take Manhattan when they sing Saying Goodbye or is it just me? Lol maybe I'm just too sentimental when it comes to the Muppets...."
Me too!! When I was 5, my mom was in the other room and heard me sobbing. She ran in, thinking I was hurt, and I was just watching that scene. And it still kills me today. So does the wedding scene, when they sing "He'll Make Me Happy"...
Anyway, here's my list:
Bein' Green
Rainbow Connection
Mahna Mahna
Rubber Ducky
Saying Goodbye (*still* destroys me after all these years...)
The First Time It Happens
Imagine That (does anyone remember this? It was a song by Ernie where he imagined what life would be like as a sailor, etc, and the refrain went "And I tip my hat / Imagine that / Imagine thaaaat / Imagine that.")
The Muppets can make me laugh and cry harder than anything on the planet.

True dat.
I must say my all time favorite is the rainbow connection except it is incredibly hard to sing. I had to do it for a show one time but we were in group so it wasnt that bad. I do love that I Lost My Cookie at the Disco though. Great Song.
Oh not a Die-Hard fan but a Big Fan. Im myspace under people I would like to meet it says Kermit and Miss Piggy.

My parents used to sing Cookie Monster's songs all the time. They would even make up parodies to "C Is For Cookie." My mom still does a fair imitation of Grover.
We used to watch the old Muppet Show on some cable channel or another. One particular musical number that I remember was on the episode that Raquel Welch hosted...the final number, where she sang about being a "Woman! W...O...M-A-N." Or, as Miss Piggy said it, "W...O...P...I...G!"

Hehe, that Raquel Welch number was on a Muppet Show video I had growing up: The Kermit and Piggy story. It featured their best moments on the Muppet Show. "What do you do with a food sac dress?"
They also did some great parodies--even Sesame Street. I remember flippin ghcannels one day when I was older and being taken in and amused by a Sesame Street number called "Cereal Girl."

Ooh, speaking of parodies performed on Sesame Street - "Wouldn't It Be Yucky?" by a female Grouch. "I Could Have Counted All Night." (My Fair Lady has always been a favorite of mine.)
And Monsterpiece Theatre, which once presented "The King and I", featuring Grover as the King, dancing with a letter "i" - "with your cute little dot". And the dot bounced up and down for the "one-two-three" counts; talk about cute.
Yikes. How is it I suddenly remember all this?

I remember the King and I! That was awesome!
Then there were the specials I loved. Don't Eat The Pictures: Sesame Street at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and my personal favorite Christmas Eve on Sesame Street. Soo much better than Elmo Saves Christmas.

Imagination
Written by Joe Raposo
sung by Ernie (Jim Henson)
Here in the middle of imagination
Right in the middle of my head,
I close my eyes and my home isn't home,
And my bed isn't really my bed.
I look inside and discover things,
That are sometimes strange and new,
And the most remarkable thoughts I think,
Have a way of being true.
Here in the middle of imagination
Right in the middle of my mind,
I close my eyes and the night isn't dark
And the things that I lose, I find.
Time stands still and the night is clear,
And the wind is warm and fair,
And the nicest place is the middle of imagination
When ... I'm ... there ...

For some reason, I was always very fond of the Capital I song. There was something catchy about the melody...
"We all live in a capital I, in the middle of a desert, in the middle of the sky..."
Wonder if they still use it.

"Imagine That (does anyone remember this? It was a song by Ernie where he imagined what life would be like as a sailor, etc, and the refrain went "And I tip my hat / Imagine that / Imagine thaaaat / Imagine that.") "
Oh yeah, you bet I do.
Another good song I liked was "I Think That It Is Wonderful". It had such a good melody and great lyrics. I'd better write some new lyrics for it for the holidays. Could somebody give me a PM on some ideas? What I need are anything that you can see, hear, taste, smell, and/or touch during the holiday season, because the original lyrics talked about the senses.
"Can You Picture That"
I also like the song "I'm Between."
