Wondering if anybody else was planning on going to the Spring Awakening chorus call on november 1st. It's an equity call, but I'm going to give it a shot anyway, just to have the experience.

how old do you have to be..are they only casting kids over a certain age?

For girls, I'd say 15 to 22. Boys have to be at least 17.

where did u read about this..what are they looking for?
just warning you, there will probably be a TON of people there that are non-eq trying to audition. So be prepared to wait a Long Time to probably not be seen. If anything they might just collect your headshot and resume. Don't let it discourage you, but if just be prepared for the possibility off not being seen or being typed by just your headshot/resume.

Last equity call A LOT of non eq people were seen.
I sent in my headshot and resume and had an audition yesterday. I got to skip the first round of auditions (equity calls, open calls) and go straight to callbacks. You could try that.

Not so well. I had psyched myself out before I went in and then I was off the pianst because he was just playing chords and I had always rehersed it with the real piano part. But it was a good experiance. There was alot incredible talent there, and even if I had done my best I still couldn't compete with some of the people there.

did you sing a rock song or are they allowing you to sing songs from the show? I know first open call they just said, sing any rock song. & to the person who sent their headshot & resume in, it really does work? i've wanted to send my in but thought it wouldn't really do anything.
They asked me to sing a folk/indie/alternative song. And sending in my headshot and resume worked for me. Chances are not everyone will get an audition that way since casting offices get thousands of pieces of mail everyday.

oh ok, but i mean do they allow people to sing songs from the show now that it is well known and all? b/c like i don't know about you but i have more of a theatrical voice (like not that i can't sing rock & folk songs) & think i would do better auditioning with songs from the show.

No, you can't. You sing songs from the show if you make more callbacks.
