Compared to Fredo, he was actually a stand-up guy. He at least stood by his beliefs, and would not approve of the NSA's domestic surveillance program, even though lying in a sick bed fighting acute pancreatitis. Even in that condition, he refused to sign the paperwork.
Though I disagree with just about everything the man has done, that one event alone garners a decent amount of respect in my eyes.
