what was on opposite My Mother the Car when it premiered in 1965? I used to know this stuff by heart but the memory fades. I better increase my Omega 3 supplements, right?
I preferred Car 54...
Try gingko. Or is it ginseng? Dammit.

It's both. But be careful. Too much can cause palpitations.
I like Car 54 too. "Oooh, oooh, Gunther."
It's About Time.
Everybody knows in a second life,
We all come back sooner or later
As anything from a puSSycat
To a man-eating alligator.
Well, you all may think my story
Is more fiction than it's fact.
But believe it or not my mother dear
Decided she'd come back
As a car!
She's my very own
Guiding star.
A 1928 Porter--
That's my mother dear.
She helps me through
Everything I do,
And I'm so glad she's near.
My Mother the Car.
My Mother the car.

"Car 54, where are you?"
Quick, before M_E sneaks back, let me ask this bit of trivia...
anyone remember whose voice was the voice of the car?

Call Marc Shaiman! Broadway musical potential to the max! As soon as Ms. Bang Bang finishes her Chitty run she'd JUMP at the chance to be in My Mother The Car: The Musical. Lest she end up like Sutton Foster.

Was "It's About Time" the name of the show, Curtains? I must be having an early senior moment.

And who can possibly remember what played opposite "My Mother the Car?" We were all so enthralled with Jerry Van Dyke and his talking car that it didn't matter.
Actually, I think it was Combat and Rawhide (and, yes, I had to look that up).

Vic Morrow. Grrrrrrrrrrrowl. It was terrible what happened to him. I've never forgiven Jon Landis.

Actually, I disliked "My Mother The Car," tremendously.
I always preferred "Rawhide."
Now Ann Southern...Remember "Masie," co-starring Zazu Pitts?
I loved Zazu, and always found her funny.

Certain people I love just because of their names. I fill in the details after falling in love: Zazu, Thelma Ritter, Dagmar, Carol Wayne, Topo Gigio.

Senor Wences.
Actually, I didn't care for him, but I liked the name. Why Ed kept bringing him back on the show I never understood.

I thought he was just sawright.
Yes.
It's about time,
It's about space,
About strange people in the strangest place.
It's about time,
It's about flight,
Travelin' faster than the speed of light.
About space people and a brave crew,
As through the barrier of time they flew.
Pass the Roman Senators,
Pass an armored knight,
Pass the firing Minutemen,
To this modern site.
It's about time for you and me
To meet these people of amazing feats.
It's about two astronauts and how they educate
A pre-historic woman and her pre-historic mate.
It's about time
It's about space
About strange people in the strangest place.
They will be here
With all of us
Dodging a taxi, a car, a bus.
Where will they go
What will they do
In this strange place where everything is new.
Will they manage to survive
Watch each week and see.
Will they get accustomed to the Twentieth Century.
It's about time
For our good byes
To all our pre-historic gals and guys.
And now,
It's About Time
It's About Time
It's About Time
It's About Time!

That theme is ringing a bell. But the show is not.

Imogene..."Grindl"
(long after her days with Sid Ceaser.)
How about the other maid, Shirley booth as "Hazel" with Don Ford.
"Two bumbling astronauts break the time barrier and land in a Stone Age swamp."
Now THAT was television!
What was the name of the show with Julie Newmar as Rhoda the Robot?

I had such a crush on both the Mr. B's!
Is that stone age guy also the Car 54 guy? Gunther! Gunther!
