He was kinda sexy. And not just because of the last name.
She was too. She was maybe the first female on television I thought was sexy--but not in the way the other boys did, not in the way that boys were supposed to.
I found Julie Newmar sexy in a FABULOUS way.

Your memories are making it clearer for me Curtain. I think I may have watched that instead of My Mother the Car. We only got three channels then, and only two networks very clearly. There was no such thing as cable. And some channels you had to watch through two feet of snow. Barefoot.

Namo, I'm sure you can relate to this. I actually have a television in a spare bedroom that has no remote control. In fact, you have to change channels by turning a knob. A knob!
I've also heard tell of ones that have "tubes" in the back that would be replaced as needed. And....and....there was no color! Every thing was black and white! Wherefore art thou, Ted Turner?

We didn't get our first color set until the early 70s. I had no idea about the Wizard of Oz gimmick before that. It's gay child abuse if you ask me.
We got a color TV in 1988.

But...but...don't you feel my angst? Actually having to get off your ass to change a channel. I mean, how cruel. What is that? Like so Middle Ages.

I know, it's HORRIDBULL. I just made up that word out of horrid + bull!
Etoile--that deserves a sympathy thread all its own.
I LOVED Living Doll.......and My Mother the Car.....but I was IN love with Sam on Honey West........

All the covers since 1953 (I think...)
Hmmm, the day before I was born, Lucy was on the cover, and the day after my sister was born Liberace was on the cover........that is certainly pregnant with meaning....
I remember "It's About Time" being on Sunday nights - before Ed Sullivan (I think)... when was "My Mother the Car"?
It's fun to check out, isn't it?
I have a bunch of the 'classic covers' framed in my office.
lol - I remember begging my parents to let me stay up to watch Ed Sullivan one night because he kept saying he was going to have "Spanky and Our Gang" on - I was so disappointed when it was some "stupid" musical group, and not Alfalfa and the gang!
Elphaba, was that your avatar or did you find it from my post about the Cover gallery?

OTA, I saw Spanky from the group covering Mama Cass's parts in the fake Mamas & The Papas that went out in the late-'80s. She was good.
Also, I ADORED Sam on Honey West.
Honey West! She was SIZZLING! And that cheetah? (Leopard? What was it?)

I wanted to be Honey West because she was the grown up Nancy Drew.
Who played Honey West? I forget (something way in the back of my mind says it was Angie Dickinson's legs, but it's very hazy)...

Thanks, Beav. Leave it to Honey West to be something Etoile and I find common ground over.
Etoile--will you join me in a toast?
Here's to Nancy Drew, Anne Francis, Honey West...and her puSSycat!

I'll keep Sam occupied while you two are drinking with Honey.
