Anyone Apply to Colleges Yet?

Anyone apply and/or get accepted yet? I applied to University of Connecticut, Quinnipiac University (which I got accepted into yesterday), and Boston University. I also got my SAT scores today, and I improved a lot. Last time I got a 1050, this time I got a 1200. I am thinking about applying to NYU (because of a higher SAT score) and also am going to apply to Northeastern, but time's running out.

Great job on your SATs millie!

Hope you get in everywhere. College acceptances are weird: I got into Yale, but I got rejected from Delaware and Providence.

I applied to NYU, Fordham (FCLC,) Marymount Manhattan, Point Park, Carnegie Mellon, and Juniata.

So far I've only heard back from Point Park and Marymount Manhattan College. Got into both!

My SAT scores were what I thought was going to really mess up who was going to accept me. For example, at all the universities I was interested in, to get a merit-based scholarship you had to have minimum SAT scores...and these ranged from 1100 all the way to 1250. Now, thankfully, I think I could be eligible for some merit-based scholarships...maybe it won't be at Yale or Harvard, but hopefully where I would like to go.

And I wasn't going to apply to NYU because of my low SAT scores, but hopefully they will see the improvement, plus I have a strong secondary school record, so, why the heck not?

P.S. I know there was someone on here who went to Quinnipiac, so if I go there, maybe I'll see you there!

Millie,

As a Boston University Graduate (Class of '82), I STRONGLY advise you to consider going there.

BOSTON IS AN ABSOLUTE MECCA FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS.


But, please, I would stay away from Northeastern--its in a real CRUDDY part of the city (unless you don't mind getting mugged on your way home from class.)

EXACTLY the same with me! I applied to Emerson, Boston Conservatory, Carnegie Mellon, Point Park, NYU, and Roosevelt.. got my acceptance letter from point park yesterday! I still have to audition though for all of my schools, because I am going for musical theater. as for test scores.. haha well.. first time i took the SAT- 1020 (yikes!) I get my second score tomorrow! wish me luck! ACT- 24 so that wasn't too bad. I am realllllllllly hoping for Emerson! it is PERFECT for me

I only had to apply to 2 colleges- my state school, which had rolling admissions, and my school, which I got into early. I had a bunch of other applications ready to go, though- Amherst, Wellesley, Wesleyan, etc. Thank goodness I got in early. Saved me a lot of suspense.

And millie, I wish my school had any kind of merit scholarships, but they most certainly don't.

Same with me. Well, replace Wellesley with Dartmouth, but the other two. I got accepted early to Middlebury though. Thank goodness for the common app. I didn't have to worry about a lot of work if I didn't get in.
Oh man, can I just share how fun it is to work in a college admissions office right now though. I get the best phone calls from people freaking out about something or other. I personally enjoy the calls that are parents saying their kids haven't applied yet (our pre-app was due on Wednesday) and wondering if they can still apply anyway (the answer is yes.) I just want to scream "if your son/daughter didn't care enough to apply, or call me themselves, would you think about how much they really want to go?

Earlier this week, I got my early decision acceptance packet from Tisch at Nyu. It feels so nice to know where I'm going to be next year. I told them in the interview that I would only accept CAP21, but I'm still waiting for my studio letter.
What a load off of my shoulders!

I am re-auditioning next November. It's damn competative and very very clicky. If you dont get in and come here anyway, the other MTs will make you feel like crap. Even when you know you have more Broadway appreciation/knowledge then them and aren't obsessed with Rent and Wicked. I have a lot of anger towards them...

I got all my rejections at once two weeks before I finally got accepted. Don't worry about...they will come eventually!

Don't worry.

One of my friends last year got rejected from Yale and Brown one week.

Then he got accpeted to Harvard the next week.

It's weird.
