#1Anyone Else Have This Problem Regarding Vocals?
Posted: 12/19/06 at 2:21amI've found that my natural speaking voice is not expressive and hence I always change my voice slightly in every performance iI give. I naturally speak in a nasally monotone. It's not that becoming. Is this going to present a problem for me in the future?

People tell me I use a "stage voice" onstage, even if I'm just trying to sound natural. I wouldn't worry about the monotone thing. You may not be that bad- I have a different impression of my natural voice than other people do. If it really bothers you, maybe you could try speaking in a "stage voice" normally? I had to put effort into trying to correct some obnoxious vowels in my normal voice (Chicago A's and R's) but it worked. I guess, next time you notice an undesirable thing about your voice, try to correct it and maybe muscle memory will kick in.
-My fault, I fear.
