I will admit that I thought this was a train wreck in the beginning, but my wife and I have started watching it every morning. I find it more down to earth than The View. (It airs about 6 months behind here.) They usually take on more real, family topics as opposed to politics and Hollywood stuff. I like that the women seem to have so little in common, but they are all mothers and all have something useful to add to the conversation. Actually, all the women except Julie Chen add something. I can never really figure out why she's there. Leah Remini, who annoyed the hell out of me at first, really grew on me. She's the loud, funny mom who is fiercely in love with her only child while seeing her faults. Holly Robinson Peete usually has an interesting perspective and I love that the mother of a child with autism has a voice on daily TV. Many moms I know tuned in for that. Sara Gilbert covered the vegan, lesbian, calm organic parenting thing. Of course, Sharon Osbourne just brings the crazy and over the top comments. Love them all. (Except for Chen...) Marissa Jaret Winokur, the field reporter, was axed in January. I didn't think she added much to the show except huge smiles.
Well, now two days ago rumors started spinning about Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete not being asked to return. This was confirmed by Remini, though Peete says she's heard nothing officially and she's still under contract (though she was apparently asked to clean out her dressing room.) Sharon is only going to be on the show part time. Julie Chen is still on the show full time, as is Sara Gilbert. Sara created the show and Julie's husband is a major executive at CBS. They are adding Sheryl Underwood as a full time co-host. She's a Republican comic. I don't really get the choice, since the show was supposed to be led by mothers and she has no children. Then they are having Kris Jenner co-host for two weeks. Gah.
I personally think they are killing the only good thing the show had going. The rumors flying are that Julie Chen thought some of the other women were getting too much press and she often threatens people jobs. "My husband can have you fired..." It's also being reported that Sara was too afraid of losing her own job to fight for her friends to stay on her show. All rumors, of course. What say you?

Lea has become kind of annoying. I can see why they might let her go. If Holly goes, I will stop watching it. She is just herself and doesn't seem to put on any kind of "facade". I would rather see Chen go, actually.
I didn't know that Holly and Lea were not asked to return. Do you have a link to share about this?

Julie Chen's husband is the major executive at CBS, the president and CEO.
Sheryl Underwood is one of the funniest stand up comics I have ever seen perform live. I'm talking gasping for air and thinking I might pass out funny. I always thought her Republican schtick is just a joke, the way she talks about it in her act is hilarious. So, even if in real life she IS a Republican, she isn't the type to march in lockstep to a party line like Elizabeth Hasslehoff on The View.
I can never get beyond the layer of ignorance that seems to taint anything that comes our of a mouth of a Scientologist, Leah Remini included.

I only saw Sheryl when she was on the The View once. I am glad she's funny. I know she's super smart.
I didn't realize what a BigWig Julie Chen's husband was. It's just weird. She is not a good fit, so change everyone else around her. I read that she sent down an order while she was on vacation that they other women were not to discuss the Casey Anthony trial since they weren't "news people." This article said that was the point that Sharon decided she would go part time. Eh, it's all drama.

Julie's the network head's lady (the way Chelsea "You Wouldn't Know Who I Am Were it Not for My Ex-Boyfriend Running E!" Handler was when she got her big break), and Sara's an executive producer. So they're not going anywhere.
And I understand Julie's point about being a newsperson. I wouldn't trust Big Brother updates that came from anybody but her. But first...
