I guess i'm just annoyed that it's been such a miserable day. And, my friend is gutted and i ahte seeing her like that. She's one of the managers at the swimming pool i lifeguard at and there was a break in on friday night. She got the call and went up expecting it to be a poster that had fell off the wall. Instead she ended up locking herself in a little room why three blokes were robbing the leisure centre... it really shook her up! Luckily she called another mate and he was there before the police and the blokes legged it.... but she was really frightened!

yeah, she's fine, a little shaken but fine. Woo hoo for lifeguards... i love it... get a right buzz when i save people, then panic about what might have happened... but the buzz is good!

i hear that. i worked at a big pool, we all had multiple saves every year. i skinned my knee something bad during a save though, i was at the diving boards, and i was in the chair, and the board was on one side, and the kid was on the other side of it, so i jumped onto the board, but it was waaaaaaaaaaaay slipperier then it should've been and i totally slid right off and got my whole knee, but i still got the kid. we used to have naked slide nights after work too (we had water slides) and then a bunch of us often came back to my house and went in my pool and hot tub. i loved it... til they wanted me to guard with a broken wrist. explain that one please.

i hear that! I was poisened during my lunch break (foor poisoning obv) and ended up lying down on the pool side in agony... the other lifeguards had to stay on pool for ages whilst i was throwing up... the rotations were out and they were suffering because the duty manager wouldn't allow me to go home and lifeguard herself.... and they still made me go back on pool! It was only when my friend and boss came in to see me that she gave me a lift home and had to help me into my house. Worse still, mum and dad were on holiday and i was all alone to wallow in my self pity and try and force fluids back into my body.... cheeky things still rang up three hours later making sure i could work the next day!

they get so weird. i was like, nope, not doing it with a broken wrist... hellooooooooo... cast.... yeah, i hear ya though. but it's a fun job!

i really enjoy it and the team i work with are well cool! They are all mental and love clubbing... but hangovers are forbbiden on pool side for obvious reasons!
