Every Entertainment Show keeps doing these features on the place, the dresses, the bachelor parties, the fact that it's on 7/7/07 etc... This is her second marriage! Why do people care so much?

Ooh snap John. That's funny. Actually I am a big channel surfer and kept seeing the same stories. I do watch a lot of entertainment shows for relaxation. I just can't watch the regular news every night. I need mindless crap! By the way, Eva is marrying Tony Parker and the ceremony will be in France, and it will be on 07/07/07..........OMG, OMG, lol!

I can't begin to tell you how sick I am about Eva Longonia's wedding and all the tripe that surrounds it: the parties, the dresses, the hoopla. It's driving me crazY! It's all I see on television and hear on the radio. Another news item about this wedding and I'm going to go berserk!

Now would someone please tell me who Eva Longona is?

I believe a lot of stuff, but I don't believe people who say they don't know celebrities. You have to be living under a rock not to know Eva Longoria is. She's the sexy, model housewife on Desperate Housewives. She's pictured below.

Well, I'm not allowed to watch Desperate Housewives, so I don't really know Eva Longoria that well..and I don't like basketball so I don't know her fiancee that well...but I'd just like to say that France is such a nice place to get married. Yay for weddings in france! they are the best kind.

Elphie- that was my point! I'm not complaining about celebrities- I just can't believe how there are so many stories on the same celebrities who are mostly famous for not much talent. I bet if you asked the man on the street who Christine Ebersole, or Bernadette Peters, or Kristin Chenowith was they probably would not even know. They could probably tell you how many days Paris spent in jail though. I didn't even see a story on Beverly Sills' death and I bet Eva's wedding will be on the cover of the magazines, not Beverly's amazing career!It's not about turning off the TV or having something better to do with my time- believe me I AM very productive and have contributed many positive things to this board. TV and this board are my release. Don't take things so seriously. It's all tongue and cheek!

America will always be obsessed with celebrities as long as we keep on buying the magazines, watching the shows, and essentially, stop watching/doing everything involved with them.

That means never going to the movies, renting DVDs, going to their concerts, pretty much stopping Hollywood in its tracks.

Have fun trying to do that.

Evan- then why can't we obsess over the really talented? In my day, only legends got standing ovations on talk shows and stars on the Walk of Fame. Now you get Survivor rejects getting standing ovations and Donald Trump getting a star.
