America will always be obsessed with celebrities as long as we keep on buying the magazines, watching the shows, and essentially, stop watching/doing everything involved with them.
That means never going to the movies, renting DVDs, going to their concerts, pretty much stopping Hollywood in its tracks.
Have fun trying to do that. I don't buy the magazines. I don't watch TV. I don't go to the movies, rent DVDs, go to "their" concerts, or subscribe to Hollywood garbage of any sort.
I focus my time and energy on real life people, interests, and causes. And my life is full, varied, and trash free.
I'll say it again. Turn off the TV. It's not that difficult. The next time you are about to turn on the TV, stop, and find a real person -- in your house, in your community, on the phone -- and do something to help make their lives easier, and as a result, give you more satisfaction than you can get sitting and worrying about people you do not know, whose faces and views are skewed by the media, and who have no worthwhile meaning in your life.

"I have also met him in person, and I find him to be quite funny actually. Arrogant and often misinformed, but still funny."
