Anyone use PayPal lately?

I just signed into PayPal today, they have changed their website. I went to add money into my account (from my bank account), and they are asking for my SSN.

Has anyone else had to provide your SSN to PayPal? Not sure if I'm being paranoid...

Yeah it's a new thing they're doing. They started asking a couple months ago.

There are a bunch of new laws set in place for on line transactions. The Government wants to keep track of monies changing hands over the internet.

Thanks for the responses. My bank account was recently hacked, so I wasn't sure what was happening with PayPal when I went to their website.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Yes, Big Brother, I recently purchased toilet armrests for my elderly mother on ebay. Put that in your supercomputer.
