Are ANY shows performing on New Year's Eve?

My friends and I normally get together for a show and a late dinner on New Year's Eve. Last year we saw FORBIDDEN BROADWAY. This year, though, every show we have on our list is not performinag that night. This included Off Boroadway productions.

I can understand why theaters in the Times Square area are dark that night--the crowds are prohibitive. However, why would shows downtown be dark that night?

I am having a production of The Full Monty in my apartment on New Years's Eve. It is such a delightful way to greet the New Year.

I saw it more non-traditionally cast, Dolly - I saw Blethyn as Jerry.

Patrick wilson will be playing Jerry. In fact, he has been rehearsing in my apartment now for 2 weeks. I just keep making him do it over and over again until he gets it right.

Dolly, a select few are having 2pm performances that day. I don't know why so many are dark, either. It has been a tradition of mine to attend a Broadway show or the Ballet on New Years Eve, but this year everything seems to be dark. (And I've already seen the few shows that are performing). Such a shame...

Playbill On-Line had a list of shows performing on New Year's Eve. They are:

Bombay Dreams

Wonderful Town

Chicago

Brooklyn

Mamma Mia

Laugh Whore

The Rivals

All performances begin at 7 PM that night.

And according to the box office, Avenue Q and Producers are performing at 2pm.
