I had to do an update for my flash player and now, whatever site I am on, including this one, I have odd words highlighted in orange and underlined creating hyperlinks.
Any suggestions on how to get rid of this??? All help appreciated.

Me, too..hacked. again.
Just type your detailed question into Google and maybe you'll get an intelligent answer. Here's hoping. Now go to sleep. Unless you're waking up...whatever. Me - insomnia, again.

Try running SuperAntiSpyware.
Download Secunia PSI, it checks your computer and does the downloads for you or provides a safe link.

BWF -- thanks, but that didn't work. The report only told me what needed to be updated.
So far, I've had no luck with TinyMagic's suggestion either...so I'm still open to ideas!
(TinyMagic -- I suffer with insomnia as well. Sucks.)

Posted: 7/11/12 at 8:26amGo to system restore and restore your computer to a point prior to when you updated the flash player. That should eliminate the problem. You won't lose any files or folders, just programs and settings changes that were installed since that point. Then, when/if you update the flash player again, pay attention to what it's including in the update. Uncheck any boxes of things it wants to install with the update.

I can't seem to get that to work. Can you walk me through using Sytem Restore. It asks me when I want to restore to, but then nothing happens.

Our computers at work have system restore turned off. So I can't actually look at it here. But from memory, it should bring up, depending on what version of Windows you have, either a list of available dates to choose from or a calendar with available dates highlighted.
I've done this a million times and it always works. In fact, your situation is exactly what this function was created for.

Another option is to do a google search like this, "system restore instructions Windows 7" (or Windows Vista, Windows 98, etc, depending on which version of Windows you have) You'll get tons of step by steps specific to your particular operating system. It's simple if you have the step by step.

Thanks for trying to help. I've gotten further, but no matter what I do, I cannot get it to revert to a previous date. It just keeps restoring to the current time.
I've tried to create dates, as NONE were showing up...but that isn't making a difference. Driving me crazy!

What broswer are you using for the internet? cause it sounds like it's a browser problem and if you are using firefox you should install this...

Posted: 7/11/12 at 11:04amI'm using internet explorer. When I hover over it, a pop up does appear. Hmmmm.....

You may have system restore turned off. So it's not creating restore points for you to go back to. If that's the case, you can turn it on so you can use it in the future. But that won't help you now.

Yes, it was turned off. I didn't realize that would effect it. I might try a pop up blocked and see if that helps.
Thanks again for all the help.

Ok, after posting, I realized I had also downloaded a goofy game off of facebook. I deleted that and the popups and highlighting seem to be gone!
