I have my first college audition and i'm freaking out. The director wants us to audition songs with 'Broadway Twang' aka nasal. I'm a female, mezzo soprano and no I do not want to do Adelaide's Lament.
Thanks in advance!

Think Ethel Merman, Oklahoma, basically any comical, or second fiddle character. Par example, Ado Annie in Oklahoma has "I cain't say no" which I believe fits your criteria. Now, it won't be too belty if you're twanging in the right way. What twang basically does is add volume and power to any singing quality, so when paired with a high larynx, you get belt, and with the right accent and attitude, you'll be twangin' away. Hope that helps!
Thanks!
