Audition Song for Footloose

Heya!
I am auditioning for a local production of Footloose soon. I'm not sure if I am good enough to land the roles of either Ariel or Rusty, but I would really like Wendy Jo or Urleen! What song would you recommend for these roles?!

I'm in high school, IDK if you are or not, but I've been in two productions of Footloose. It's one of the worst shows ever. I can't stand it. So boring, so flow, just poorly written.
However, with the right elements (cast, choreography, directing) it can be good.

For a good song to sing, are you allowed to sing songs from the show? Try "Holding out for a Hero" if you can.

Heya, I'm a dance teacher but still love performing so am trying to keep as involved as I can in amateur theatre! I'm 20 but look a lot younger. Unfortunately we are can't use a song from the show for the audition

Any other suggestions?
