I need a female audition song for a high alto. Here's the situation:
The musical at my school is SO BIG that my teacher is legally bound so that she can't tell us until November. That's big. I'm a high alto and I need an upbeat audition song that will get my teacher's attention. Preferably something that isn't overdone, because my teacher has a big thing about overdone.
Please please PLEASE can you help me?

I'm a high alto too. My audition song is usually "I speak six languages"
It has a few high notes but they aren't too high!

I love “worst Pie in London” but the song is very challenging on pitch-wise: it takes things up very high in some sections and has to be carefully balanced, as Patti Lupone does this song. They can be taken by a brave alto. You can also try A BRAND NEW DRESS... Coco, A FOGGY DAY IN LONDON TOWN. Damsel in Distress ,A JOURNEY TO A STAR.. The Gang's all Here
Change - A New Brain
Wherever He Aint - Mack and Mabel
Fly, Fly Away - Catch Me If You Can
Movie In My Mind from Miss Saigon (Shows overdone, not song)
I Guess I'll Miss the Man from Pippin
Spread A Little Sunshine from Pippin
Diva's Lament from Spamalot
A Change In Me from Beauty and the Beast
Everything Else from Next To Normal
