My daughter's audition at NYU is tomorrow morning and can't be rescheduled since this is the last audition date before the early decision deadline. The snow storm, and the fact that we don't live in the city, are a tad stressful. We were able to get a room at the Holiday Inn in mid-town, and are heading in shortly, but from the looks of things outside, it's going to be a hell of a commute.
Please think kind thoughts.

Maybe it will work to her benefit
I had three auditions today and they were very empty because of the snowstorm:P Goodluck

Just be careful when crossing streets as cars may not be able to stop, and wish your daughter luck for us.

Best wishes but be careful. Don't take any chances because it won't be worth it in the long run.

Posted: 12/6/03 at 1:45amPlease hold onto handrails on stairs--especially at the subway. I saw a guy bust his butt today. Luckily, he was ok, and I didn't have to feel guilty laughing about it all the way home. =)

Posted: 12/6/03 at 5:05amYeah, but I'd leave as soon as possible if you can. i was at a party one night in nyc and actally wanted to sleep so i checked into a hotel and they were able to put me down as an early check in so call, explain the situation and see if they will do that. i hope it works out for you and good luck for your daughter.when traffic is bad sometimes, I'll take the ferry across hop in a cap or on the free bus, you can always go back for you car later. I came back one morning at 7am to get my car and I had no problem. just something to keep in mind if you find yourself crunched for time. goo luck again!!

Posted: 12/6/03 at 12:18pmtell your daughter to break a leg with her audition. im an NYU freshman and was in your same position last year. I had an early decision audition and the day of, there was a terrible rainstorm. on the way down, our subway broke, so we had to run up to the street to catch a taxi (not the easiest thing to do in NYC in pouring rain). But we finaly made it, just a couple minutes late. BUt here i am. SO hang in there.

Posted: 12/6/03 at 5:42pmThank you everyone. We just got home...safely... from the audition. It's been a very long and exhausting 24 hours, and it'll probably be an even longer couple of weeks until we find out the results. But I very sincerely thank you for your support.

Glad to hear you both safe. Here's hoping it was worth the effort and your daughter gets the part she was going for.
