WOW! I didn't know about this. I LOVE her Rosemary Clooney tribute. Did Ms. Manilow produce and arrange this, as well?

Yep, Barry did this one too. I love her to death. Bette I mean. In my opinion, she's allowed one more tribute album so that she can consider it her tribute trilogy. But any more than that and she traipses dangerously close to Rod Stewart Croaks The American Songbook Volumes I-XXIX.
Oh, who am I kidding? I'll buy anything the woman does.
Yes he did. ANd the FEVER track alone sounds fabulous. What is even more exciting is that she plans on doing a new tour. Bette Middler is in my opinion the most incredible concert performer. I always try to see her tours at least twice.

DAME - I agree. No other performer - in any venue, of any genre - comes any where near her completeness.
I will carry in my heart and soul the first time I saw and heard her do "Stay With Me" live - and the second, and the third . . .
Oh my god! that is always a highlight for me. I saw her last tour twice. First in Las Vegas and then at Staples center. The Las Vegas concert was fantastic.. and even more special due to the mishaps. She got stuck in the horse at the end of act 1 and the led screen went a little crazy during the mister rogers segment. But you know she used her mouth to cover up and people ate it up. The Los Angeles concert was brilliant. Went smoothly. ANd she added two encores.

Oh my god, me too.
I got goosebumps many a time on the last tour, not the least of which toward the end of the second set when she and the band were together in a horse show formation center stage and they did "Keep On Rockin'" from The Rose. After channeling Rosie Clooney and her own multiple personalities, she became a REAL rock n roller, like Courtney Love in tune! It's the kind of achievement the mayoress of Squaresville, Miss Barbra S. was never capable of.
Namo.. Thats why I respect you. Your taste is impeccable.
Just pre-ordered the new album

Quelle comedienne.
I haven't seen or heard anything of her lately.
Peggy Lee had the sweetest voice; like a bell it was so clear.
She just completed the Australian leg of her "kiss My Brass" tour and I guess then recorded this album.

If she goes on tour again, I'll be there - again. And if there is a god, in the midst of whatever she decides to sing, I'll get to hear "Shiver Me Timbers" live one more time.
And THANKS, Namo - now I've got her howling FIRE in my head! There are definitely worse things
I know I've mentioned it before, but I just have to throw in here again - my Robert was at the taping of THE ROSE concert sequences at the Wiltern. He says he can remember every moment with distinct clarity.
Obviously he wasn't enjoying it in the same manner I would have!
Was he getting paid?

I honestly haven't ever asked - but I will. It was extra work, so you'ld think he would have been - but I really don't know.
*squeal*
Bette!
great news! the diva is back!
Can't wait to hear Bette's new CD next Tuesday! Barry did a great job on the production of the Rosemary CD and I'm sure that the musical arrangements on the new Peggy Lee tribute CD will be stellar, too.
damn. wish i could go!! too bad i have class and i don't live in nyc. waaah.
I am doing my best to be there tomorrow.
Bette Midler is the greatest performer. I saw "Kiss My Brass" 3 times. She certainly does not disapoint when it comes to her music and her concerts.
Her performance on the Today Show this morning makes me think I will not like this album as much as I enjoyed the Rosemary Clooney one, but I shall see. I don't think I'll be disapointed at all, but there are just some things I like better than others.
I tivo'ed her omn the today show today. Will watch it later. What song did she do?
She did Fever and then (I think) Hey Big Spender, in a duet with Katie singing along. I missed part of the second song
Fever was brilliant.
I love Bette, have since Divine Madness came out years ago.
"Fever"
"Big Spender" (with Katie)
Those two were sung before 9am.
Then at the end of the show (around 9:45/10) she sang "I'm A Woman."
Look forward to watching it tonight.
