re: BEWITCHED vs. I DREAM OF JEANNIE

"Bewitched" wins. :)

Anyone else remember when they showed both of them in a row every night on Nick at Nite? I used to watch that all the time.

PalJoey - Knowing about Veronica Lake absolutely wins. Hands down.

Now, if the kids would just read this thread...

AMEN to THAT, Addy!

Of course, Veronica Lake was NEVER in WICKED... :)

See, you learn something new every day! I always thought Bewitched was inspired by Bell, Book and Candle - one of my favorite movies, by the way re: BEWITCHED vs. I DREAM OF JEANNIE

DG,

You're so close we're almost touching--I MARRIED A WITCH inspired BELL, BOOK AND CANDLE as well.

(And you thought this Sunday was going to be a boring day!) :)

re: BEWITCHED vs. I DREAM OF JEANNIE

i'm partial to jeannie because i thought it was hysterical to see jeannie put dr. bellows "through it"....poor fool thought he was losing his mind. and i loved the way larry hagman would yell: "JEA-NNIE!, JEA-NNIE!", whenever she would wreak havoc.

i've also had a crush on Barbara Eden. Knock-out body, with a sweet angel face gets me every time.

"BEWITCHED"was good too, but my all time favorite is JEANNIE.

Marquise,

I THOUGHT you had a crush on Ann-Margaret.

NOW you tell us you have a crush on BARBARA EDEN.

Exactly HOW MANY crushes do you have? :)

i've had too many to count. I've also had a crush on OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN.

re: BEWITCHED vs. I DREAM OF JEANNIE

I had a crush on Olivia Newton-John too!! I think it would be easier to list people who haven't.

re: BEWITCHED vs. I DREAM OF JEANNIE

I never had a crush on Olivia Newton John.
I love both I Dream of Jeanie and Bewitched, but tended to watch more of the Bewitched episodes because they were more tender, some occasionally made me cry (I know, I'm a big sap)...I loved Barbra Eden, and that bottle is still something I'd love to own a good copy of (been researching on Ebay)...Agnes Moorehead stole the shows if you ask me - she is amazing.
I hears a rumor when I was in my 20s that Agnes Moorehead died a very poor woman and is buried in a pauper's grave in Ohio somewhere, but can't remember how I found that out or whether it's true or not.

Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

re: BEWITCHED vs. I DREAM OF JEANNIE

I LOVED Agnes Moorehead on Bewitched. She always managed to bring an extra something to the table.

re: BEWITCHED vs. I DREAM OF JEANNIE

and the versatility she brought to the characters she played (Moorehead)...just look at her in Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte - poor southern white trash - so different from the haughty witch she played on the series!

Bewitched...because of all the great character actors and their wonderful characters. Who wouldn't want to give a great big hug to Marion Lorne as Aunt Clara??? She was perfect!

re: BEWITCHED vs. I DREAM OF JEANNIE

isn't Aunt Clara the one with the carpet bag in which she keeps her collection of door knobs? I adore her!

oh, I bet you did - and I bet it contains a word begining with either the big D or the big L...

re: BEWITCHED vs. I DREAM OF JEANNIE

Bewitched, definitely! With Darren #1--Dick York--of course.
Endora, Dr. Bombay, Uncle Arthur...what's to love? Overall it was a better show.

I liked IDOJ, too, and it had its plusses. Jeannie was gorgeous and did have the cooler living space...when I was little I wanted to live in the inside of that fabulously decorated little bottle. And she had the hotter man.

re: BEWITCHED vs. I DREAM OF JEANNIE

I liked Darren Stevens number 1, Gladys Kravitz number 1, and Beck Connor number 2. LOL.

Agnes, a Giant D or L?!? *feign shock* nawwwwww.........

Bewitched of course, because Elizabeth Montgomery is a beautiful sexy witch!
Seven and a half cents doesn't buy a hell of a lot!

re: BEWITCHED vs. I DREAM OF JEANNIE

I was ready to brush this off with an easy "neither", but one of the posts above mentioned the aunts and uncles. This made me think of all those great actors/commedians who regularly appeared in Bewitched: Marion Lorne, Agnes Moorehead, Maurice Evans, Alice Ghostley, Paul Lynde, Bernard Fox - and they were the regulars! They definitely put this show on the top.

re: BEWITCHED vs. I DREAM OF JEANNIE

Bewitched most definitely. It had a magic quality that IDOJ just didn't. And the click and nose twitch is WAY better than that blinking thing...and the little 'bing!' noise is much better. PLUS Bewitched had Elizabeth Montgomery.

re: BEWITCHED vs. I DREAM OF JEANNIE

I dream of Jeannie is simply not in the same league as Bewitched. Bewitched was better written, better acted and was, well, better. (you can see why I am not a professional critic)

Did you know that Tammy Grimes was supposed to be Samantha?
So my dear you think you can get to Broadway. Well, let me tell you something. Broadway has no room for people like you. Not the Broadway I know. My Broadway takes people like you and eats them up and spits them out. My Broadway is the Broadway of Merman, and Martin, and Fontaine, and if you think you can build yourself up by knocking other people down... ...GOOD LUCK... Seinfeld
