This event is outrageous.

they said that age 8 is the youngest they would take at the shooting range. My mind boggles at the thought of an eight year old, or any child, handling an uzi.

And the cute title of the place, Bullets and Burgers so trivializes and makes a clever little phrase out of this serious problem.

Saw the video on the internet. They show him adjusting the gun for multiple rounds after her first shot then she recoils from the rapid fire. You can see the gun swerve toward him and they cut. He was standing too up front. She should NEVER have been allowed to discharge such a weapon!

Oh and gun nuts, if these weapons are used for hunting, I want to know hunting what? Seems her target was that of a man.

Poor girl is going to be f*cked for life!

Yup, seems like that instructor may have misjudged two things-trusting that a thin little girl could handle the recoil and standing too far in front of her.

Jane2, it is absolutely disturbing. What kind of parents think it's a good idea for a CHILD to not only fire a firearm, but an uzi?!! Like SNAFU said, that girl is f*cked for life.

Dottie, I think there are parents of children much younger than this little girl, who start their kids on guns.

I know there are people who love guns, love killing animals with them, and love their little tots knowing how to shoot them. I just don't understand it. Bothers me to no end.

Jane I was hoping it was more of a Disney Land kind of thing where the people aren't declared dead until after they are out of "The Happiest Place on Earth". Like that father who had his head bashed in when the cleat from the paddleboat around Tom Sawyer's Island broke free.
Bullets and Beers sounds just like Disney for the Right Wing Gun fanatics! I can see the signs now... "You have to be this tall to fire an Uzi!".

I really feel for that kid - she's going to be scarred for life. I think I was about her age the first time I fired a gun but it was a single-barreled shot gun at girl scout camp. I saw an interview with another worker at the gun range and he was defending their right to put guns in the hands of children. He sounded like a moron.

The sad thing is, nothing will change. None of these parents will ever accept guns as anything other than expensive toys to play with and the idea of death still will not enter their minds. Hundreds of parents will want to be filmed on TV saying how their children have never harmed anyone shooting their guns and this was simply an "unfortunate accident". Don't punish the Uzi!

I guess Holder is not playing the race card when he journeyed to Ferguson.It cuts both ways. Not to much in the news about a African American cop recently shooting an unarmed white kid or the innocent white kid set on fire and burned alive by a group of African American youths who said "This is for Trayon"
