Amen, etoile. I say this from experience - I didn't heed your advice last time you started a thread about this issue several months ago, and got myself into a bit of a pickle over it by revealing too much traceable info. Etoile speaks the truth and it can happen to any one of us.

Posted: 1/22/06 at 1:18amHey yeah, I used to be on another message board. It made this one look like a hymnal. Anyway, the fights were out of hand and one reached a point where police were involved. Some very resourceful people were able to obtain every single bit of personal info on a member, and because of their hatred of that member, they posted this info all over the place. It ruined the guy's business and infiltrated his home life. (he was a jerk and ALMOST deserved it). Anyway, you have to be careful on the internet.

Agreed Jane! I try to be as open about myself and my information as possible but there are limits we all need to heed. That being said, unless you swoon me with a pretty face and godly voice (i.e Shoshana), you are NOT getting my bank account number.

I just wanted to remind folks that there have ben threads that ask you to post information that without much work, you can discern where you live, your mother's maiden name, your last name . . .
As the said in Hill Street Blues . . .
Let's be careful out there.
Unfortunately, not everyone plays by the same rules, and what you post as innocent fun, could come back and haunt you if you reveal to much info.
