My question, how do you post multiple images in a single message on here? I've tried uploading imgages to hosting sites, but none of the coding I use on other messageboards works here. Help!!
And, yes, I know how to use the "Optional Image (URL)" box, but that's only good for one image per post and always places your image at the v. top of the post.
I don't use HTML for posting images.
I just right click on the pic and "copy image" then post it.
If that doesn't work I right click and "view image info", copy the link that pops up and paste that link right in the body of my post.
I don't think I've ever used the optional image field.
Wait. You mean you just literally just paste the URL of the image's location/where it's hosted without any code around the URL?
If the image already lives on the web, I do like Taz does. If it only lives on my computer I upload to tinypic.com, which gives me the message board code to use. I post it right into the body of my message. If I want more than one pic I just list them one after the other in the body of the message. The code looks like this, without the spaces:

Funny, I just cross my arms in front of my chest and blink. Always works for me.
Yea, it's just a copy/paste thing for pics.
I only use HTML codes for italics, bold, text size, etc.
So weird. That's the code I try using and it never works for me. Hmph. Let's try it again...

Mr. Skin?!! Really Horse Tears?! What ARE you thinking?
So... what did I do wrong up there? The first one (which shows up as a hyperlink, but doesn't show the image) is an image of Bernadette which I found through a google image search. That's the URL where that image lives.
The second image is an image of La LuPone from Summer of Sam which I downloaded and then uploaded to TinyPic. That worked (though it shows the "[IMG]" code as text before displaying the image).
WHY DOES THIS BOARD HATE BERNADETTE??
Ok, so when you google an image and right click -> "view image info" you need to check to make sure that the link ends with .jpg
Many of them are .png which won't post (at least not with copy/paste).
The Bernadette image ends in .png
Images from tumblr give me some problems too. Many times I need to check a few before I find one that is .jpg

I believe images that do not end as .jpg do post fine in the "Optional Image" box, though.
Quick follow up, Taz: why is the "[IMG]" code showing up as text before the LuPone pic I posted? I've seen others post pics without the code being visible in final post. Cheers!
you can just leave the beginning [IMG] off and it won't show up.
I never realized you could post .png images in the optional image field.
Thanks for that tip Liza!
Success!!!
One final tip:
gifs are posted the same way as any other image. Just make sure it ends in .gif
ETA: one final FINAL tip: you can preview your post before actually posting it to make sure it looks correct and that the images are showing properly.
God, they really need to overhaul this place. Would be nice to embed vids as well. It's 2014. They're also overdue for a responsive design, don't you think? Surely they must be getting a lot of mobile traffic.

You can embed videos. As of right now, YouTube only I believe. This changed happened within the last several months. You used to not be able to embed any videos at all. Here's an example:

You're welcome, Taz!
No idea how I stumbled upon that. Probably by frustration when one of those .png images wouldn't show up correctly. Wonder why it's like that.
Oh, nice! In case it wasn't clear from Liza's post, no additional code required. You just need to copy the embed link from the YouTube video. Thanks, Liza!
