I said "PLAYER" Liir.
I need to know the subject matter of the epic tome as well, was it the third in the series. The "masterwork" so to speak.

ROTFL you guys have been cracking me up.
And give credit where credit is due, I kept asking where to eat and no one would take control so I finally was the one who picked Sbarro, I love their ziti and I must have had some psychic vision knowing the wonderful entertainment we were going to receive
Actually, just found out that I most likely won't be able to make it...or at least not till 6 so depending on how late you guys plan to stay there before going to DRS...though I gotta try to be there fairly early to meet someone in the lobby.
Sunday is going to be fun, yet very hectic!
From now on Patronus, since you are across the continent, I will take a moment to think of you everytime I pass by Sbarro's
(The others can think of themselves when they pass by lol)

This epic tome is the a whole different story I am writing. Its a fish out of water story about a young boy, a very active imagination, and a fantasy world. I am quite excited about it, especially after I got to page 179 and turned back 160 pages to add a whole new plot point...which resulted in 169 pages of rewrites. Being a writer is worse than being an actor ; ; But hey. its a lot of fun. Now if I can just finish this and get to work on my musical, I'm set!
WRQ, 6pm is fine if you want to meet up with us.
Patronus, I havent been back there since we left that night. But it was such fun! Cmon, that waitress was better (and hotter) than the Rent show you saw, right?

Posted: 1/14/06 at 2:58amHold on...I know Patronus was disappointed, but having seen at least half the cast he did, there's NO WAY she could have been better than the Rent cast. No way.
#29re: BWW Hangout Sunday at 5pm
Posted: 1/14/06 at 3:13amI admit to my embarrassment I guess that I liked both her and the Rent cast. However, I am just one of these people who just finds something good in everything. I always find some positive thing out of my actions and expenditures. I mean...if I can take something positive out of the movie Catwoman (...well I think it was watching a scantly clad Halle Berry that made it worth it), I can find something good in those two.

Can you?
Some might say the same about me as well. Right Patronus?
I will say this, both Pam and the RENT cast were done a great disservice by their sound systems.

More power to you if you are, SP. There's just too much negativity in the world to begin with. That's why I studied positive psychology in grad school. Gotta be some joy to be had in life if you know where to look, right? Theatre is a good start! (Unless you laugh at tragedies and cry in comedies..."

Posted: 1/14/06 at 4:02amEww, it's a good thing I've learned to sleep through mornings. I'm very happy being a pessimist, thinking this is hell and most people suck, and though the always-positive and perky people frustrate me, if I have to deal with them in the morning, I usually want to shoot them. Once had a homeroom teacher like that. Ulgh! Never again.

Oh, no question! I think I got 17 cavities while I was hanging out with you in NY because you were just so damned sweet about EVERYTHING.
Patronus, I havent been back there since we left that night. But it was such fun! Cmon, that waitress was better (and hotter) than the Rent show you saw, right?
Actually, no. I hated nearly every single acting choice, actor, riff, and character interpretation in that performance of Rent. However, both Ava Gaudet and Colin Hanlon were infinitely better and exponentially hotter than Pamela.
I am just one of these people who just finds something good in everything.
Oh, I am the same way. Providing of course, that there is good to be found. Sometimes with me, it's almost done to a fault. Even if I find the most obnoxious, annoying person in the world - I'll still try and find some admirable quality because I can't stand to be negative about them. Hell, if I can't find an admirable quality I'll even create a extreme caricature of that person in an attempt to forget all of the insanely obnoxious qualities and immortalize them in my head as an icon. Does that make any sense?

I have this quality too. I am a positive, yet pessimistic person. I expect the worse out of people (and performances) and a lot of the time (approx 46.2%) I am pleasantly surprised. I think it feeds into my always finding the good in things, it's easier when you are expecting them to be a craptastic bag of ca ca from the beginning. Everything you get after that is a unadulterated optimism lined bonus!
Wow, this has been one major league thread jack.

Exactly Patronus, when I always expect the worse, if things are bad it's expected, and if things are good I'm surprised.
Knew I was right that no way Rent was worse than her. You didn't see Cary right? He's def hotter than her. Even as a girl I think I could even say Ava is hotter as well.

While I clearly did not have the benefit of joining the group to their trip to Sbarro, I do have it on good authority that Patronus and his better half were quite entertained during the entire meal.
Now I shall go back to lurking on a thread where I have no busienss posting -

Oh, it makes a little. I can say, with very little fear of contradiction, that this very endeavor has served me VERY well in the past. I got TWO, purple hat!
And I knew that people didn't call me "sweetcakes" for nothin'.

Not this trip, but I did see Cary many times back in 1998. He's okay I guess, but I never thought of him as hot as much as goofy back in the day. Extremely nice guy though.

Yeah, I suppose you are right.
They were.
Who is they and what were they, Liir?
BTW, is that the "gayest" picture of two heterosexual men you've ever seen?

"BTW, is that the "gayest" picture of two heterosexual men you've ever seen?"
I wasn't going to say but...hell yes lol
Patronus, I meant you and your very lovely wife. I thought you enjoyed that singing waitress ; ; I seriously need to work on developing my good vs bad singing meeter because according to people I know, it's not working well >< I really admire people who can sing and sing well. Its a very beautiful gift. Maybe I am just too forgiving...Or maybe I am a 'bigoted star chaser', whatever that means.

Oh Liir, not gonna argue on you needing a better ear. Certain male in Wicked...
But I was talking w/ one of my close friends who's in music school about how sometimes we wish we didn't have such pitched ears. Often, when we go to shows, thankfully usually not professional ones, concerts, or other things that sometimes our families can drag us to, there are singers who can really have a beautiful sound, but they can be a half step up or down and it is actual torture on our ears. I can't explain it, but it really hurts. During West Side Story rehearsal over the summer, especially during tech week we always unconsciously made bad faces, it hurt more then b/c we were the ones they were out of tune with. Even if we want to appreciate pretty sounds, it just...hurts. And then let's say I'm with my family seeing this singer which I still don't understand who they dragged me to see, anyway they're all raving about how wonderful he was, and I can't begin to tell them how much he hurt my ear and they say I'm being ridiculous. Unfortunately, years of tuning up our instruments subjected our ears to become pitched so we can catch ourselves off tune, where it is necessary, but it really is unfortunate that it catches others too, preventing us from enjoying a lot of things where I wish I could say aww they're not perfect, so what. Oh well.

Thank you for the thorough answer, WRQ. It certainly seems to make sense why some people can hear every single pitch change while I can just barely make it out. But hey, I intend to work on that. Thanks again for sharing and giving all of us and myself something to ponder.
Oh and about David Ayers...I never said his voice was great and mindblowing. It was adequate with me, nothing more. I just liked his acting style alot more than other Fiyeros. Thats including good ole Norbert.

Oi! I wish I can come (and I can), but I can't come into the city alone. Alas, I can't find a friend willing to come with me tomorrow.
Ah well, posts the details.

Ahem...a certain FEMALE in Wicked is equally concerning.

Wait...which one? And...in the show now or then? I mean there's one who I wouldn't even mention b/c everything she did made me wanna throw things at her, but methinks you're referring to someone else.
Sorry, in addition to hurting my ears, I don't really like the sound of Ayers' voice. Which is just weird b/c I remember liking or not having a problem w/ him and my ears in Fiddler..maybe it's just not the right role/range for him at all, I dunno.
And true you can make an effort, but you shouldn't hafta be at my level, I'm a little far off the spectrum, if you can sit back and say not the best singer but I can still enjoy it without your ears being in pain, that's the best IMO.
Aww hypy(random name I picked just now), we hafta meet up sometime! Maybe we could even bring our instruments!! (God we are such pit geeks!)

-_-; Nnnng. It's not fair! Why do my parents have to be so damn protective?
...
Don't answer that.
OMG! We totally should WRQ! I'd so bring my red violin! I'd be spazzing out while I attempt to remember how to play the 'A Funny...Forum' or 'Annie' overture...or the WSS suite I played. Let the inner pit geek in ya run free! Pit Geeks Unite!!!
Speaking of which, I'm thinking about making an official handshake for PGU.
